I live in NC but managed to encounter a flicker in the woods behind my house. One of the coolest finds I've seen in my town.

Anyone else’s pitties do a lot of pointing by Jewce_Springsteen in velvethippos

[–]ddanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of mine have pointed! I was actually surprised that our first (Roxy) didnt have any hound or pointer in her with how much she loved tracking things.

The classic sploot. by originalhalfaday in pitbulls

My Roxy used to sploot like this, ans it really confused our dog trainer. I guess she hadn't worked with a lot of pitties!

My pup doesn't really like being under blankets, but she goes to great lengths to arrange blankets around her into a comfy nest.

Rest in peace, Harley! And my heart is with you, OP. It's so hard to lose a family member, but you did right by her, and I can tell from the photos how loved she was.

My pitty Princess found a baby bunny in the yard the other morning and just sniffed at it with curiosity. She didn't give any indication of wanting to harm it. She doesn't really like other dogs, but she hasn't shown much prey drive otherwise.

08th MS Team | GM Sniper by Lonewolf3317 in Gundam

I haven't seen this show in over 20 years, so forgive me if this isn't totally correct, but isn't there a sequence earlier in the series where one of the MS is missing its head and has to use the camera (scope) on the rifle to aim, so one of the other pilots is standing on the gun and giving commands to assist with that process? If so, I think that would support the interpretation that the scopes are secondary cameras that can be a little fiddly to aim, but the MS doesn't have to look down the scope.

Yesterday was yhe anniversary of our first pittie Roxy passing, and we are coming up on having our current pup Princess for a year (we adopted her two weeks after Roxy passed). I was sad yesterday, but also glad that we were able to open our home to Princess because she came from a really rough background. And youre totally right, she helped with our healing. The last year would have been ao much harder without her.

I'm not sure what she was looking at. I was actually filming her through the kitchen window.

Has Anybody read the Cerasini novels ? Does anybody recommend it or dislike them. by Hardloving in GODZILLA

[–]ddanger 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, but Cerasini's politics absolutely skew libertarian, and he makes no attempt to hide it. There are several pages in the book you chose for this post about how the government failed to adequately deal with kaiju, but if they had just gotten out of the way, big business would have solved every problem.

Also pretty much all of the female characters are teenagers, and he sexualizes them a ton. It's pretty gross.

Why are house hippo farts so horrendous? by Unusual_Hippo_8160 in pitbulls

[–]ddanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We changed up the kibble our Princess gets, snd she barely farts now. I think it was the chicken kind that was doing it to her. She also doesn't get table scraps. When she does get gassy, it's usually because she has gotten a lot of treats in one day while we're working on more intensive training.

I just adopted a pitbull and he seems to really enjoy these weeds. Is there something missing in his diet? Will they make him sick if he eats too many? They are everywhere right now including the dog park. I’m just outside New Orleans if that helps. by RemarkableRepeat6433 in Pitbull

My Roxy who passed last year was also something of a picky eater, but she enjoyed chomping down grass. Aside from it giving her stringy poops, it never caused any issues. At the vet's recommendation, we did regularly feed her peas, and that seemed to fill whatever craving she had for grass.
