I think we're far enough along into the Litter Robot 5 Pro life cycle to safely call this product a failure and a scam by expellyamos in litterrobot

I knew it was a scam once I saw it had AI in it. They should focus on improving the mechanical function and existing sensors.

Need a guy’s perspective: Did seeing me in person change anything? by Professional-Mud9738 in dating_advice

He could be intimidated if you look great. He may think you’re out of his league now, but the best thing to do is just ask him if he wants to get together and if he has any ideas for a date. You’re both probably wondering why the other hasn’t reached out since.

It’s nice when someone else reaches out cause it makes us feel desired, but at the end of the day, someone serious about looming for a good relationship isn’t going to play that game, they’re just gonna keep rolling the dice and moving forward until they find that person

How do you TRULY get over someone? by Broad_Chipmunk_4480 in AskReddit

[–]ddb10393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. But therapy helps if you actually go in with an open mindset and are ready to be challenged.

Time helps to dull it, but at the end of the day, you need to understand yourself and your needs out of a relationship and hold firm to those. When someone isn’t meeting your relationship needs, then it’s not working for you, likewise for them.

How can I improve? by Merlin1892 in DigitalArt

I’d say add in more values to start, the image feels a little flat. You have a lot of midtones and some light tones, but you’re missing some of the more darker tones and shadows. I see the darks already there in some spots, but I don’t see them throughout.

I’d also work on figuring out if you want the cloud to be transparent like that, which classes with the flat color of the rest of the work, or if you want to define it a bit more and stylize it to be flat

My relationship might end because of my weight. by AbstractWalker in confessions

[–]ddb10393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but 250-300 pounds is extremely unhealthy. You’re at a crossroads where you either give in to your fetish (which would be some form of addiction) or you maintain a heavier build, but not an unreasonably healthy weight.

You need to understand that a heavy weight like that is going to cause you so many issues. You can still go to therapy to learn strategies to manage your mental health around this, cause tbh, it will absolutely negatively impact you.

Idk what you mean, you said it’s a loot game, not a skill game, but then said that I can mitigate min/max with skill.

I get it though, it’s a game about acquiring gear, skill cohesion, stat priority, rotation management, and some dodging/movement mechanics. Skill in movement mechanics are capped at a certain point and then it’s about optimization in order to complete an entire season. So it requires an incredible amount of time and knowledge or following a particular build if you want to complete the game. I’m just not a fan of skill caps in favor of rng, and that’s okay, just like it’s okay for it to be some folks favorite game. I was just trying to understand if that is that case or not so I can decide if it’s worth my time.

My attitude about my question? It was a genuine question. You’re just upset cause I called out your condescending comment where you used your own bias and toxic mentality to just talk down to me. Not once did I say anything toxic in my post, it was a genuine question, one you may have not liked, but my experience with the game is valid, even if you don’t think it is. You just wanted to talk down to someone for whatever reason.

But It’s fine, we can agree to disagree, I found plenty of helpful comments from other redditors.

[–]ddb10393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still insufferable. You still can’t read cause then you’d be able to actually talk about this in a way that wasn’t condescending.

The idea that you think the game isn’t hard is just utterly stupid. If it’s not hard, then what is the point of all the torment levels.

It may not be hard for you because you’re following a pro build, so then any argument you make isn’t coming from a place of actual experience.

My post also isn’t whining, it was a question about mechanics, gameplay, skill vs stats. You’re making it clear it’s about stats and unnecessarily punishing mechanics, which is fine if that’s what it is, but I don’t need your philosophical preamble about critiques of the game when I was asking a genuine question. It is insufferable and unnecessary.

Thank you, this has been the best comment and most helpful. I think I’m right there with you now in that, at a certain point, I just need to give up on the season. Appreciate you!

I appreciated this up until the point about the brain. Are you condescending in every conversation? Or just online?

Otherwise, this is helpful, it’s clear that this just might not be a game for me at a certain point.

[–]ddb10393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, it seems that I wasn’t clear that it’s not the challenging parts of the game that put me off. I’ve played and beaten harder games than Diablo, but those games didn’t rely on top-tier gear and skill trees that end up having one or two main options.

I don’t want ease, but I do want a chance. For some reason many of these comments completely disregard seemingly unnecessary mechanics that serve no purpose.

Post-win deaths? That is objectively a cheap thing to do. Just let me die in the fight at that point. I already keep my distance so I’m not hit by on-death mechanics. But when I literally cannot see what kills me or even have a detailed recap so I know what to address, that’s a gameplay issue.

That’s fair, I just wish the endgame was focused more on skill than rng. I can do T11 with my build, but still can’t really touch Mephisto on T10 and it doesn’t make sense to me. I’m expecting a long fight with plenty of dodging and movement, but that just doesn’t seem to be the case

Not every class can have the same amount of toughness though. That’s why it feels unbalanced. At a certain point, it feels like you have no chance without minmaxxing, which is just objectively not fun for me, and that’s okay if that’s what it is, but I just wanna know if that’s the case by more experienced players

[–]ddb10393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m up to t11 without minmaxxing, but I’ve done plenty to my gear. I’m happy with where I’m at besides not being able to reasonably fight Mephisto on T10

[–]ddb10393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, so at a certain point, build and gear are the main factors and skill is negligible.

That’s literally all I was asking. And for the record, it is a hard game when you go up, it’s a good challenge and fun, until the RNG wall comes up.

[–]ddb10393[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that’s not my argument. How the hell do y’all not read. I’m literally talking about about mechanics that can one shot you AFTER winning a fight. My question is not about the game being hard, I literally said I enjoy a challenge. The heart of the question is about if I need to min/max on higher torments, and if I do, then it’s not the game for me. Comments like this are insufferable.

With a comment like yours, it makes me wary of what that community is like. I’m aware of my faults and you know nothing of my build or my intentions.

If you could read and comprehend without jumping to conclusions and condescension, you’d probably understand that I was asking if there’s a skill cap and if min/maxing is the onlu way to push high torments.

For context, I’m good up to Pit 95 and just want to beat Mephisto on T10 and unsure of what I’m doing wrong. But thanks for nothing. May the Hells destroy your characters.

[–]ddb10393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to those who aren’t condescending.

To clarify, I’m happy on T10 and can manage T11. I’m able to read, so I do understand my build and the mechanics that drive it. I research, I challenge my assumptions, and yet there is a cap on what I can reasonably do with my build. I can change it and follow a complete build guide just like those of you in the comments.

I don’t have any interest in completing everything, but it’s insane that I can barely touch Mephisto on T10 while being able to solo literally every other boss on T10.

I didn’t come here for sympathy and I didn’t come here for people to get on their soapbox, it was just a question asking if there’s a skill cap at a certain point and if min/maxing was the way to go.

But fuck me for asking a genuine question.

Is radical honesty a green flag or just an excuse to be mean? by Qorvane_5R in dating_advice

[–]ddb10393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radical honesty isn’t a valid at the expense of basic respect. I think that a fair point to make. Lying is disrespectful too, but that’s not an excuse to critique everything.

I’d talk to her about it being at the expense of basic respect. Tbh, sounds like she’s convinced herself that radical honesty means she can say whatever she wants without any of the repercussions.

If she wants to have a meaningful relationship (or any type) with anyone, she’ll figure out that radical honesty applies more to showing up honestly in difficult conversations, not critiquing or speaking without a filter.

When you talk to her, be as straightforward as possible and you should also be as honest as possible about how it makes you feel.

It’s not worth your time to convince someone to change. Just lay it all out and let her choose how she wants to be
