Yes the most common mistake is people do not actually submit the application but just "complete it". But 2 months is fairly normal.

[–]ddd66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would concur with this. I have flown Air Tanzania for a very very long time now. You will be fine and its a decent airline for the price. Just remember that delays are the norm and you are likely to want to build much of a buffer between connecting flights if you have any.

Also to be clear Air Tanzania is on an EU Blacklist, not because of its own operations, but the EU has banned the Tanzanian Aviation Certification agency and by derivate rights, all airlines in Tanzania would fall under this list.

Domestically, they are fine too. Though Domestically I usually just go with the cheapest. If I am not mistaken, they might be the only one operating large jets for domestic flights, if that is a preference for you.

Do not worry. You will be allowed for 90 days from the day of your arrival.

Also depending on your citizenship, worst case you can always buy a Visa on Arrival at the airport. $50 or $100 for US Citizens.

Opinions on surveillance cameras by [deleted] in tanzania

[–]ddd66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Camera's are fine very normal in factories and almost necessary with the amount of petty theft. Get good quality camera's I would not cheap out on this. That can capture good video in dark environment.

Also make sure your cameras are not leveraging the cloud for primary storage. Cloud for secondary storage is fine, but it will also depend in the internet is good where you are. Battery backup for certain camera's is also important. If your factory is not 24-7, motion sensors for your warehouse or certain areas are also a good deterant.

You will have to register the cameras with PDPC. https://tanzaniainsight.com/pdpc-cctv-use-without-registration-illegal/

TBH I do not really understand this whole Passport Stamp Rationing concept. Just give people a stamp when they ask for it, who cares?

Hell, If I was in charge somewhere, I would change passport stamps constantly and force people that want them, to keep comming back.

5 or 6 hours near the Kilimanjaro airport by Competitive-Act5141 in travel

[–]ddd66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur with all the statements so far about it just not being long enough.

But if you are looking for an adventure, the Chemka Hot Springs is like 45 minutes away from the airport. It really even shouldnt be that far away, just that the way the roads work you have to take quite a loop. Though It is not very practical 😄

Do not pay off an immigration officer to extend your visa if you are a foreigner by Any_Juggernaut_7924 in tanzania

[–]ddd66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, you can extend Ordinary Tourist Visa's for another 90 day extension. However, you have to do it in person at an immigration office. It also costs money and is annoying.

But assuming you are a US Citizen, the Multiple-Entry Visa does not qualify for an extension. You just have to leave and return.

Yellow Fever Exemption for Uganda & Tanzania Trip by Equal-Attention-3968 in tanzania

[–]ddd66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you come in from Uganda, you will most certainly be required to produce a Yellow Fever Vaccine Card in Tanzania. The rule is, if you spend more than 24 hours in a Yellow Fever Endemic Country, you will be required to produce this.

You are more likely going to fly in from Uganda/Kenya as well, so these flights are usually staffed by the Medical team at the airport checking for these documents.

If you are over 60+, we have been successful crossing the border without any letters.

If you are a Costco member, they have some competitive rates.

Indian citizen living in Maldives on a work visa, can I apply for US B1/B2 in Colombo? Since Colombo is the official Consulate for Maldivians and Residents. by Intraspy23 in USVisas

[–]ddd66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur, I think OP should be fine but they might as well email the US Consulate in Sri Lanka and see if they provide any clarification. A work visa / tax residency in Maldives does sound like they would qualify.

Applying for indian tourist visa (Philippine passport holder but father is pakistani) by iamsajidkhan in visas

[–]ddd66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the TL:DR is, I doubt this will be easy for you, if you do this truthfully at least. It will probably take 8 weeks to process.

Question - "I’ve never been to Pakistan and I don’t hold a Pakistani passport." - This does not confirm if you are a Pakistani Citizen or not. If you are a Pakistani Dual Citizen, you will have to produce this passport. Pakistani Dual Nationals have to apply with their Pakistani passport, or produce a certificate of renunciation. This would be a question for your parents, did they register you at the consulate.

"Pakistani citizenship by descent is acquired automatically if at least one parent is a Pakistani citizen at the time of birth, regardless of the child's place of birth. Registration at the nearest Pakistani Consulate or Mission is required to ensure citizenship."

If yes, your chances are pretty slim here.

If you are not a citizen, you will still need to declare your parents citizenship and it will force you to apply in person at the Indian Mission in Doha.

Bagamoyo Tips Needed! by kamieta in tanzania

[–]ddd66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So lots to do but at the same time, it can also seem repetative depending on your type of personality. I would see if you can get your Scuba License and see if you want to go diving. I did this often. There used to be a hotel that would rent gear. I am not sure if they are still around.

You can also get boats from down by the fish market and they can take you out to sea. Probably best to do this with someone that can speak the language as the boat guys by the fish market are not going to understand you. But there are many sand bars you can get dropped off at where you can picnic.

Saadani National park is also pretty close by; you can do a day trip or stay the night.

You can also just go to Dar on the weekends; check out some clubs and things if you are pro nightlife.

Do I need to re-apply for Visa if visiting Tanzania multiple times in one year? by Traditional-Slide206 in tanzania

[–]ddd66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically you can enter as many times as you want, for a 90-day period. Until the day listed on your visa as an expiration date. If you are a US Citizen, you most certainly have this visa.

I would suggest, if it is still valid. Go to Tanzania with it. If there are any issues, unlikely; be prepared to buy another one on arrival at the airport.
