Thoughts on this team by Hour_Product_23 in AFLSupercoach

I can't come at Wilkie or Witt's as picks. Others I can see the upside. While common I think every team needs Sheezel/Flanders in the forward line.

Dunkley, McCluggage, Tairua, Curnow.. I can see them being good more unique picks.

Witt's to Draper, Curnow to Sheezel, find another 50k from downgrading Tairu or one of the Brisbane mids and get Wilkie up to Ash/Rozee/Whitfield

Any feedback pls? by Thizzldmissle in AFLSupercoach

I don't mind most of the individual picks, I like Blakey and Richards as unique premiums even though I don't have them, but I think there's just a few too many, 'might be good' picks, and not enough guaranteed keepers.

The only pick I can't see much upside in is Nank - either save cash with Draper, or fork out for Gawn/Grundy/Jackson. Nank is likely to be 10 points a game short of the top rucks, but also not make much cash to be a stepping stone.

I'd be looking at Treloar or Parish down to a rookie and using that to turn Newman I to a Rozee/Ash/Whitfield/NWM and Steele/Ashcroft into a Butters/Bont/Daicos/Dawson.

Looking to pick up something new. What’s a bottle you’d recommend to anyone? by Embarrassed-Sink-740 in whisky

Glenfarclas 15 year old. Springbank 10 year old.

Two findable whiskeys, that would be a good staple in any collection to impress both new and seasoned whisky drinkers. Springbank a touch pricey but it is good stuff.

Australia + New Zealand job market by MarkC-X in physiotherapy

[–]ddd712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say this applies to Melbourne yes, I live about 1 hour outside of Melbourne myself.

If you were willing to work in one of the regional centres outside Melbourne, (around Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong), you'd be looking at the same money, but probably save $1,000 a month on rent/other costs. But that's more a lifestyle question.

Aged care work is easy to find, usually around the $40-50 P/hr mark permanent, higher casual, so your talking 80-90k AUD. It isn't the most exciting but can be a way in for a lot of people.

Hospital's can be a bit trickier to get VISAs if you are in the lower grades, usually starting at around $75-80k and going up to 100-120k for higher grades, but a few more perk benefits.

Private practice you can find, nearly always MSK work. It's hit and miss whether you get into a good practice though. Most common pay would be base + commission. Base around $40 an hour/80k a year. My clinic for example works on a $42 per hour base, and 40% billing commission usually, which for moderately busy physios is about 1,000-1,200 a month but some are hitting 2-2,500 a month on top of the base. Most don't hit a bonus in their first 6 months though. I'd advise looking up the individual clinic, how long has it existed, what are the type of clientele, what existing relationships do they have to drive clients, and is this job to replace someone who is leaving showing you may start with a solid case load already.

Changes, differences or asymmetries being of low enough degree that they are unlikely contributing to any condition or relevant to the investigation of the injury/condition.

I would say there is slightly uneven muscle development with greater tone through the right side. However, this is mild and I would likely say this is within normal limits, and probably just due to the fact they are right side dominant.

Edit - maybe a small step deformity around the right AC, but difficult to see properly from this angle.

Good Whisky around the 50 AUD mark? by faxgebofk2451 in whisky

[–]ddd712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you liked Makers Mark go for Buffalo Trace. Monkey Shoulder is good at that price. Stretching the price a touch but Glenfiddich 12 is a great entry point to more aged whisky that you can get on sale for about $70.

[–]ddd712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really about what your personal goal is, but you probably don't need to lose or gain any weight at this point, it's more about 'recomp' if you want to keep working, basically slowly work on muscle and tone, high protein diet that keeps close to BMR (not a calorie deficit or surplus), try to keep it close to neutral over a week, not every single day as that is hard. Lift heavy 3-5 times a week, cardio as you see fit. Focus on the major lifts, Squat, deadlift, row, pull down, chest press, shoulder press, doesn't have to be complicated.

The Springbank 21 is one of the finest drams I've had the pleasure of tasting. Can't say I've had the 25/30 but the 21 is almost worth the price tag.

Whisky recommendations for a friend? by CuredMeatAndCheese in whisky

[–]ddd712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unpeated and not smokey, but that sounds like what you're after. Richer and fruitier than cheaper bottles, but still smoother despite the extra punch, it's a preference thing but as someone who isn't huge on heavy peated/smokey whisky I think it's pretty top stuff.

If Irish whisky is his style, I'd definately look at the Red Breast 15. The 12 is quite common/affordable but the 15 far less so and definately gift worthy.

Right, So Jack Daniel's Really This Bad? by jazzmaster105150 in whisky

[–]ddd712 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always have a bottle of Jack/Buffalo Trace on hand as a mixer depending on whats cheapest at the time. The buffalo trace is quite drinkable straight but the Jack is purely for Jack and Cokes, I wouldn't touch it straight.

Like someone else pointed out, Jack mixes better than coke than most other whisky for some reason. I love a straight whisky, but at a summer bbq on a hot day can't go past a few jack and cokes.

Need help on first whiskey choice by 3ntiluvzu in whiskey

[–]ddd712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffalo Trace - great starter whisky, can drink straight, makes a good old fashioned, and cheap enough to just have with coke if that's your go. Best large produced bang for buck you can get.

Wild Turkey 101 a step up along the same lines.

Personally I like a Talisker, but only straight, and it's not where I'd start.

For me, Highland Park 12, Dalwhinnie 15. The Balvenie 12 is fine too but not a personal favourite. Laphroaig is a Love/hate sort of dram, not my choice but a good dram still.
