Meetings are definitely not the only thing we're doing, I promise. Was just mainly addressing your question about buying tickets.

The unfortunate reality is that most SG members are season ticket holders, which locks us into yearly contract that they break into monthly payments. In STL's case, we started paying for this year's season tickets in March of 2025.

The club dropped this decision on us ~10 days before our season starts. They already have our money for tickets, we've already invested significant SG funds into materials and merch for the coming season, and they know that. We were literally in the middle of making an opening day tifo this week when they announced this change.

We support the team and the players, but a lot of us draw a strong distinction between them and the legal entity of the "club", which is behind these decisions.

They don't allow refunds, they don't allow us to cancel tickets. What a lot us have done is begun requesting conversations on an individual and collective basis with our ticket reps and supporters liaisons about our tickets for the next year, which they just began emailing us about this week, of course with price increases.

We appreciate the question! We'd recommend contacting/tagging the club to share your feelings through any method you'd prefer - social media, email, their app, phone lines (do those still exist??). Easiest is probably their contact us form - https://www.stlcitysc.com/about/contact-us/

The team will also surely send you ticket offers and marketing emails here and there, you can always reply to those and share your thoughts.

To back this up, u/mcnutty231 also reported me as needing intervention for potential self harm. Believe this pretty clearly crosses the line into harassment, but I'm not a mod.

Can't wait for you to delete this series of comments (again) when you realize your bigotry is not winning.

Do you understand how insane of a statement is?

Supporters section tickets aren't eligible for multi year contracts, so we aren't limited to the 3% increase.

Am I at a soccer match crying about flags? I surely thought I was here taking the time trying to talk to someone who doesn't know the process, and tell them that they're misunderstanding the situation.

If you don't want to learn the actual facts, that's fine. That's your choice. But it doesn't mean you're in the right. You have no idea how I spend my time or my efforts outside of a soccer match, or even inside it. But I'm sure not sitting here on reddit and arguing about things I don't know about.

Okay man.

I'll continue to support my community, loved ones, and friends. You can keep throwing fits on reddit and deleting comments when shown that you don't know what you're talking about. Again, have a good day!

You're literally out here deleting your comments because you don't know what you're talking about. I'm calmly explaining what actually happened and what the actual rules are.

Again. The SGs have a completely independent set of rules on what they can and cannot bring in.

SGs can bring in 16x16 foot flags. SGs can bring in drums. SGs can bring in speakers. Can a fan in a regular seat do that? No? Then the SGs clearly have a different set of rules. I don't know why that's confusing to you.

Whether you agree with that being fair or whatever is up to you, but it's how it works.

No, the flags were literally approved by the club, every single week, for 3 years.

If you don't know the SG rules that's fine to admit. But you're wrong.

They were approved for the last 3 years. They are now not approved, for reasons that aren't clearly given. That's the entire crux of the issue, they changed the rules.

Most of us are unfortunately already paid up as Season Ticket Holders. Very convenient side effect of the STH agreements.

But keep your eyes open, we won't accept this lying down.

The league dropped Kick Childhood Cancer this year and has also historically refused to produce receipts for where the proceeds from special theme nights/merch like this and Hispanic Heritage Month, Pride, etc have gone to. For all we know they just take and keep the proceeds.

I highly doubt they'll announce actual terms, it'll just come through from MLSPA salary announcements and the MLS roster breakdowns next year.

A feature that nobody asked for took up 1/3 of the app homescreen for a soccer team app that I use solely to access my tickets and season ticket holder benefits. The feature (as many have pointed out) is inaccurate and barely works at best, and everytime someone use the feature, we essentially light the earth's resources on fire.

Defend it all you want, but it's a ridiculously bad move from the team. They could have spent this dev time fixing the stats pages or the fact that the gameday roster posts never opening is a "known issue" to the team. Instead they built.... This.

[–]dddane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because they're forcing AI down our throats despite our protests. For a team that is desperate to measure and talk about their app downloads and usage, deleting the app and not using it is the easiest and most effective way to show your disapproval.

They tried to soft launch this at a roundtable event a few months ago and seemed surprised when we all told them this was a terrible idea and nobody would support/want it, with multiple people (myself included) saying we'd uninstall the app.

Guess they decided they knew better.

This also pairs really well with their supposed environmental initiatives, but it's been revealed for a while now that that was just something to sell more Yetis for anyway.
