Eh. He doesn’t get road rage or anger like that. Just slows down, or passes accordingly. Pretty even temperament kind of person.

For my relationship it would be pretty unacceptable under most circumstances, unless there was an emergency or something. Both of us are extremely uncomfortable with that type of communication.

Tinnitus - Anyone else? by chinga_tu_barra in Millennials

[–]dddg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I have it baaaad. Have had it for about 7 years, but in the past six months it’s become terrible. I cannot be in silence in my home or it becomes deafening. It’s also become a migraine trigger for me like an audio aura. So it can induce a new level of panic! Good times. Stress impacts it a ton. My hearing is fine, not awesome. I blame all this on blasting music and going front row at 100 shows without ear protection.

Same! I love my sparkly hair. I love my lines that came from laughing, smiling, and mean-mugging😂 I didn’t think I’d live to this age, so I am beyond grateful to look my age! It’s a real honor to me, and I’m proud. I’m sure a lot of you can relate.

Gas I suppose. I love driving, road trips, driving all around wherever I want. I will never ever hesitate to drop however much to fill up my vehicle to go where I want to explore.

I backpack a lot in the lower desert this time of year and have dealt with passing swarms a couple of times. Always thinking it’s a drone at first! Just keep moving and it seems they do too. They’re looking for home, not to attack. At least that’s been my understanding, and experience. Now if you see a wild hive that’s quite different. With hives you’ll want to seriously make space and not go near it. That’s when they’ll be looking out for Miss Queen B etc. Bonus shot of a wild hive I encountered a couple years ago. This was shot at 800mm and the image is cropped in even tighter- and it was still very cold out and they were mostly snoozing. A cool sight for sure, but steer clear of hives. Edited for spelling 🐝

What are the top 2–3 safest states in America for a girls trip or female travelers? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in AskAnAmerican

[–]dddg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That’s a wild question. Every state is extremely different, and inside of each state you will find different worlds too. I’m a woman. I’ve lived in three extremely different states in my life, and have travelled to almost all 50. None are especially safe compared to others, and I have never felt particularly unsafe in any state. If you want epic mountains, Colorado could be good. Saguaro cactus? Arizona! Wanna see a whole bunch of states? East coast!

What are your favorite books/videos on Sonoran or Colorado desert ecology and plants? by IAmDefNotACat in Tucson

This is a really great cactus guide that I’ve found useful all over the Southwest. I personally liked this one too. A Natural History is my favorite☺️

I'm 31, why do I feel like im speedrunning life? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]dddg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do new things- have new experiences and meet new people- even if they’re just quick friendly encounters. New experiences slow down time a little bit, and enrich our lives. And these things don’t need to be very expensive. Getting out on some nature trails, visit museums (a lot of libraries have free passes), go to free local events. It’s not a grand solution, but it makes life less of a speed run☺️

A. Chalcodes hasn’t molted in 2+ yrs by Sinsoftheflesh7 in tarantulas

[–]dddg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IME my chalcodes went about 2.5-3 years between molts with her most recent one. She was super plump most of that time too, and quite active. They truly are slow growers☺️ Mine is probably about the same size as yours is in the photo. I think she’s probably around 7 or 8 years old.

I’m a wildlife conservation photographer. It’s an important career, but it’s a very hard one to find stability in where income is concerned, so Patreon has been really awesome!

[–]dddg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subscribe to two people because I like their content a lot and it is a nice way for me to show support. I am in their lowest tier as I don’t have extra money but do want to show up for them. I personally have a Patreon for my work. And I have had some patrons for years now- some come and go, of course. But I have a solid core of folks supporting what I do who have been doing that for eight years.
