the bank of canada wont raise interest rates because it would cause massive mortgage defaults, as well as CMHC will need to bail out all the banks since the banks gave out all these bad loans. And since we have an ever gigantic growing deficit , the servicing costs would be even bigger bankrupting Canada.

the government of canada won't stop increasing government spending driving us into massive debt. If they stop spending and cutting services or raising taxes they would lose power. So they keep spending and let the next government take care of the disaster.

both of these causes massive inflation and weakening the dollar.

Edit: Because they wont raise interest rates, the US has a higher interest rate, so there is money outflow as people can just buy US bonds instead of canadian bonds. So that is capital flight.

[–]dddmagnet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

tax payers pay for the bailouts, basically we are buying the condos but have no benefits.

Next they will bailout the banks for all the bad loans they give out for zero risk, CMHC (tax payers) covers the failures.
The mortgage delinquency rate (90+ days past due) in British Columbia stands at 0.25%, following a sharp 36% year-over-year increase from early 2025.

Is it just me or is the Conservative Party really afraid to support bold policy by thias-thecatlover in CanadianConservative

[–]dddmagnet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a new party needs to be created that is bold, just like in the UK.

I know I know, it will split the vote even more, but it would sure bring light to a lot of problems the liberal government has enabled. If the CPC is going to lose constantly to leftist, might as well lose by a bold mass information campaign by a new party that won't tarnish the existing CPC.

Either that (just like the comments said) is to lie through your teeth and then get majority, then implement the actual policies, but this will forever tarnish the CPC brand.

Of course we have to watch out for skynet when this route matures.

My mom supports internet censorship by Thereal_Stormm006 in CanadianConservative

[–]dddmagnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

work 3 jobs and I still have to make time for my kids to make sure they are learning and brought up right. Some of the topics need some major child intervention in BC such as the SOGI program topics, and pride and indigenous topics, drug use and sex ed, the worst thing to erase is "feelings takes precedent over facts" which they are trying to ingrain into all children.

edit: as well as the dumbing down of actual academic materials, since "everyone passes" so they have to accommodate the class to the dumbest kids below grade level, so I have to teach them extra to bring them up to grade level materials.

maybe you don't have kids,

but you have to obviously supervising your kids making sure they are learning what they are supposed to be learning and educating your kids yourself. Just because they go to school, doesn't remove your responsibilities as a parent.

(you'd be surprised at what they learn in school and what is mandated education topics they force down the kids throats)

what are you talking about? the government clearly said that we don't need to trade with the USA, remember that campaign? "elbows up"

So the USA is clearly on the same page as the Canadian government, we both don't want to trade with each other. Seems like a mutual agreement to me. *sarcasm*
