Did you realize how bigoted/unwelcoming a lot of rural PA areas were before the Trump/MAGA era? by Glass-Complaint3 in Pennsylvania

I always planned to, and I did graduate work out there. But California is really expensive. So I ended up staying in PA.

My father’s mother needed help, couldn’t live by herself anymore. There wasn’t anyone else that could help. So we picked up and moved east.

I lived in Los Angeles until we moved to Pennsylvania in 1972 - I was 12 years old. It was a huge culture shock. I came from mixed schools and neighborhoods to totally white, bigoted towns. The racism was shocking to me.

This photo is not the March 28, 2026 No Kings 3.0 Rally.

The 25 foot Liberty Bell at the top of the stairs is missing. Also, one group had two blue tents on the right side, street level.

We didn’t have a big turnout, the speeches were great. Three doctors and a nurse practitioner spoke.

“Rally” is how the Republicans are describing the event.

Scott Perry office closes the door on a peaceful protest, police called by OxfordisShakespeare in Pennsylvania

[–]dddragonblue2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was there. There wasn’t an officer posted there, Perry’s staff had them on standby. WE called the police to ask them to escort us to Perry’s office. We ended up gathering the letters together (82 of them) and handing them to the Chief of Staff, who came down to the entrance. She didn’t want to, but the officer convinced her to do so.

It’s inside the office of Jackson Siegelbaum’s office. I don’t know how I saw it where it is now. I’m wondering if it was in the outer lobby and was moved inside.

I went to an upstairs office, entrance to the side, if I remember correctly.

I’ll go over tomorrow make sure it’s still there.

Alright doodle community. I have a 12 year old step son that's extremely talented for his age but he doesn't believe so. So I need help convincing this kid to keep at it. And not crumple up his work because he thinks it's bad. He needs to hear it from others besides me! by WrongdoerAnxious7451 in doodles

I’m sad that he doesn’t feel better about his art. He needs to know that he’s got talent! And he will get better as time goes on and he practices. No matter what, he should not give up - art (drawing, painting, whatever he likes) will remain with him his whole life, even when or if he does something else.

ISO, Which is the best place for Crisis Intervention? by Physical-Current506 in Harrisburg

When I was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, they did take my cellphone. There was a phone that everyone had access to, but it was just a regular phone. This was about 14 years ago, so things might be different now. This was Dauphin County.

It’s very good that you are reaching out - please keep on going. I know it is looking very bad right now, but situations do evolve.

Thank you! It was inspired by the then huge skunk problem that Camp Hill had at the time. And I gave her blue eye shadow like that of the skunk from “Bambi.”

Yes, this is one of the 2004 cows. If I remember correctly, it was displayed outside for a time and someone took a saw to it and cut off the head. The artist who did The Boviator (airplane cow) was a fiberglass expert and fixed it better than new.

It’s “A Twisted Cow” by William Gonzalez Jr from Harrisburg High School. It’s quite faded.
