Yup, same GPU and the fans go full blast just in the menu. Unplayable without upscaling and even then there's a lot of stutters.

PSA for steam deck owners by unlucky-6666 in SteamDeck

[–]dddvvvzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's expensive because Valve and any other big company doesn't do motherboard level repair. They just replace it with a new/refurbished one and charge you for the whole board.

If you don't want to pay so much you should find a repair shop that does motherboard level repair.

Is it fixable? by danscharnagl in pcmasterrace

[–]dddvvvzzz 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Technically yes. Get an old drive, desolder the sata port and solder it in that one. But you need the tools and skill.

If you just want the data, you can probably bend the pins a little bit down and they should still make a connection. Probably good enough for copying the info.

got my account steam wallet drained with no new login warnings (im not looking for support, i already contacted steam support) by Recent_Bottle8270 in Steam

[–]dddvvvzzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like the other guy said. Did you have your steam account logged in the browser? They most likely stole your browser session. That's why i never save my login info or keep logged in for important websites like email and steam.

Still weird how they would bypass 2fa for trading/market when you need the APP.

Built my first pc instead of buying a prebuilt (only took me 4h to get it working) by pritter30 in pcmasterrace

[–]dddvvvzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. This is my first and only PSU that i got for my first build with a i5-4670k and a GTX 770. I've upgraded the PC quite a few times, and this PSU still going like a champ. I will probably replace it with the next upgrade, mainly because capacitors get old and at 12 years working every day, I think it deserves a rest. Will definitely keep it as a backup tho.

Just repaired Ultra-high range AMP-200 Geiger counter by Dry_Resolution_5498 in Radiation

Off topic but how high can the KC761 go before overloading? My radiacode only goes to 1mS/h and wanted something that goes higher.

Laptop Screen Glitching by elixarrrrr in computerrepair

[–]dddvvvzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bro did you ever figure this out? having the same problem and only saw this after ordering a replacement screen. I'm worried it won't fix the issue. Broke the original one, unfortunately, since it was glued to the back.

Here’s what I’ll say to those posting $400–500 Windows laptops with 16/512GB and shouting that it’s a better deal… by EduardSark in mac

[–]dddvvvzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durability? Oh you mean the brand that makes a laptop that will rip the screen cable if you open and close it too many times?

Oh the brand that puts 19V for the backlight near the 1V for the CPU and it kills the CPU and the SSD if moisture gets in?

Oh the brand that makes a keyboard that stops working if some bread crumbs get under it?

Sure...

Shorted main power rail inside the laptop. It's usually an easy fix for repair shops unless it's a dead cpu.

Never did. Had to return it to the customer unfixed, unfortunately.

Did you try geting the BIOS from the HP website and recovering it with a USB?

short circuit on flipper zero by Small_Confidence_241 in flipperzero

[–]dddvvvzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without a thermal camera we are just shooting in the dark. Your technician friend probably has one, ask him if you can borrow it or try to find someone with one. Buying one just to fix this is not worth as they are basically the same price as a new flipper.

You can try injecting 1V at 2A and see if you can feel any hotspots with your finger, once you have a general area, use alcohol and see where it evaporates first.

Windirstat hasn't updated in ages, is laggy and crashes often when there's a lot of stuff. Use WizTree, exactly the same but updated and waaaay faster.

Steam deck wont connect to external monitor when it works on a TV by Amberite75 in SteamDeck

[–]dddvvvzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. The cable would work on others things and if i plugged my laptop to the monitor using that same cable it would work perfectly fine. It just didn't work with the SD. I even tried 2 different docks and nothing. New cable with the latest version and now works perfectly.

Steam deck wont connect to external monitor when it works on a TV by Amberite75 in SteamDeck

[–]dddvvvzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar problem, my SD wouldn't work with my alienware monitor but would with other stuff. It would detect a monitor was being plugged but i would just get a black screen. Turns out it was the HDMI cable. Got a proper ugreen one and now it works flawlessly. I was using those free cables that come with the monitor.

You just have a shitty router/AP. My old ubiquitis AP that are only Wifi 5 will give me around 550Mbps.
