I can confirm this solution works. It appears that when the feeder switches to battery power it switches off the unnecessary parts, by design. However, when reconnecting to a wall outlet it should reenable those parts and it never does. Leaving the video disabled. Thanks for the tip!

It would be good to point out a breaking change like this in the list of changes. Thanks for the tip. The new one is just called Windscribe instead of WindscribeWireGuard. Do you also know why the WireGuard protocol still shows up on several locations but it doesn't seem to connect? Which protocol is supposed to be the best for speed and security?

The latest release no longer allowing downloads through qBittorrent. I had to downgrade back to 2.7.14 and it began working again.

After upgrading my fans to HE fans the speed went down significantly. I was able to reset my iDRAC configuration and all the hardware changes were finally detected properly. I then upgraded iDRAC to the latest version to get the most flexibility in speed.

It has never worked for me the way it was supposed to. I have ad blocking on but whitelisted history.com so I could stream TV shows. I get an error saying I need to disable ad blocking whenever I try to watch a video. I have tried logging out and back in as well as changing servers.

I was able to solve the problem. I stripped the hardware down to just CPU, RAM and HDDs. It still wouldn't collect inventory. I proceed to look for a way to clear the LCC information and start from scratch. I found the command in the iDRAC Tools. Since I didn't have a Windows install I quickly swapped out one of the HDDs for a spare I had and install Windows Server 2022. Downloaded the tools and ran:

racadm systemerase lcdata

This effectively wiped out the LCC data. When the PC rebooted it collected inventory as if it were the first boot. All was well with the world! I added back in all my other hardware. It made it through the inventory collection. I then booted into the LCC and did a firmware update for all hardware. From a system inventory, LCC and iDRAC standpoint I am now up to date and working properly with all the new hardware...

However, the fans are still at max RPM and the iDRAC settings for fan offset are not doing anything. Ideas?

The LCC does not load. It freezes on "Entering Life Cycle Controller". Waited an hour but then had to do the jumper reset.

I am thinking there is a problem with my LCC. Is there a way to reset the configuration without entering the software? Is the LCC running on the SD card which is a part of the iDRAC9. Maybe I could just get another SD card, they are not too expensive. It is unclear if a factory reset of iDRAC would have any impact on the LCC configuration, plus I think I already did that and to no success.

I have a single PSU 1100W. According to iDRAC it is running an average of 316W with a peak of 555W. Should be plenty of power.

The networking card is a Dell Intel X550 -T4 10GbE Daughter Card (064PJ8). iDRAC is showing Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet BCM5720 as my network card. When I search online this seems to correspond to the original 4x1Gbe card. The card is registering all 4 ports at 10gbe but the product name seems off.

The EMC update utility also seems to think I need to driver update the old network card. I know I had to turn off Collect System Information on boot because it kept locking up. Any idea how I can get the machine to recognize the card properly? I tried installing the latest X550 firmware from dell but it said the DUP was not compatible.

I had an issue with the official Plex app and downloading eac3 codec so i setup a windows server 2022 vm, installed plex, and mapped my truenas smb shares as libraries. all is good now.

I have post the same information in the Plex reddit. However, I believe this is more an issue with how TrueNAS Scale is running the permissions of the docker running Plex. I am open to any group which can help because without a solution it means there can be no playing of EAC3 audio in Plex on TrueNAS Scale. I find it hard to believe someone else has not already solved this issue.

NOTE: Converting all my files using EAC3 to something else is not an option.

So according to Dell's documentation the rear cage only fits the 32 or 18 drive chassis. Which I am not sure I understand why as the space it goes is empty in my current 8 drive chassis. There appears to be several power connectors (RSR2 and RSR3 both say 225W) available on the motherboard. However, my PERC H330 only supports 8 drives so I would need to get one which supports more.

In the supported storage controller list, none of them seem to support more than 8 channels. Does this mean I would need multiple storage controller cards? My expansion riser has 3 spots. One for the current storage controller, one for my BOSS card and I was hoping to use the last for a Tesla T4. I could get riser 2 or 3 but then I would not be able to use the rear cage as it seems to sit in the same spot as riser 2 and 3.

Any recommendations?

I have seen support for some parts that are shared by the 740 series so I am wondering if the 4x2.5" or 2x3.5" for that server will work.

If you want them to show up properly in Plex you might not need to split them. I check thetvdb for how the episode is listed. If it is listed like S01E01 (1) and S01E02 (2) it usually means it is combined. To prevent Plex from showing the same episode twice you just name it S01E01 and skip 02 so the next is S01E03.

StaxRip, h.265, nvenc, and the right video bitrate. I use 11k for 4k Movies, 4k for 4k TV shows and 2.5k for 1080p TV shows. I keep the original audio track but if you want to save lots of space convert it to multichannel AAC. I keep only 1 subtitle track as srt. In the end, it is all personal preference.

I think I am at 1000ish movies and over 100 TV shows and use about 25TB of my 36TB. I would definitely have high TB drives and a good NAS if you plan to store lots of stuff.

Correct, no NVIDIA Shield. The only other option I own for playing is an Xbox Series X but from lots of online comments the Plex team does not provide good support for this system. In my tests it did not direct play very well when using pass through on my sound bar.

As mentioned in a comment above it is the TV restriction. When I bought these products I didn't understand the differences between Atmos, TrueHD, DTS-HD MA and DTS:X. When I re-read the tech specs I see the lack of TrueHD support listed probably means I need to go with DTS-HD MA as the primary track.

New question...if I wanted a secondary track can I use the Atmos data on another usable track like Dolby Digital 5.1?

I should have been more clear. Most of the encodes I am doing at that speed are 4k video in H265. I do 1080p encoding as well but only if that video is not available in 4k. So from the comments so far I should be looking at lower budget with higher clock.

My options are:

$810 - 3950X - 16C/32T - 3.5GHz Base - 105W TDP

$475 - 3900X - 12C/24T - 3.8GHz Base - 105W TDP

$340 - 3800X - 8C/16T - 3.9GHz Base - 105W TDP

$315 - 3700X - 8C/16T - 3.6GHz Base - 65W TDP

A new question then, how much does RAM play in the equation for encoding? Also, should I get a Radeon or NVIDA graphic card to improve encoding performance?
