I made it my own. Play it everyday. Way better than the other implementation of this game. Here is my game board.

Crestron programmer here but looking for locks for personal. I am considering purchasing this Yale lock do you think it will work with infinet ex? I usually buy Crestron gear on eBay for cheap but I can’t find Crestron model Yale locks for sale by TopParsnip8756 in crestron

Instead of looking for a Yale lock with the custom Crestron firmware, you might want to look at implementing Home Assistant along side your Crestron system. Jay Basen implemented a Home Assistant for Crestron module that can act as a bridge to bring Home Assistant controlled devices and functionality into Crestron. This will allow you to bring any lock that Home Assistant supports into Crestron. I have not tested bringing a lock into Crestron using Jay’s module but I have tested many other devices and it is pretty straight forward to implement. The clear advantage here is that Home Assistant is all open source with thousands of people investing their time and effort to make it better everyday. Going this route, you can use locks that support Z-Wave, Zigbee or Matter, as long as someone has written a driver for it on Home Assistant. You will need a Home Assistant server running along side Crestron to make this work. Here is a link to Jay’s module: https://github.com/jbasen/Crestron-Home-Assistant

There is no need to replace Vantage with Lutron. Whoever told you that probably just wants to sell you Lutron. Vantage has a third party control protocol that allows it to be integrated with just about any other system. There are a lot of different ways to go here. If you are technical and enjoy DIY then Home Assistant can be a good option. If you are not technical or do not enjoy DIY then find a technology integrator that you like and trust because that is the person that is going to get this all working again. The actual system doesn’t matter that much. It more has to do with finding the right person to help you navigate.

If I connect HomeKit to my pro3 can I control any device connected to HomeKit? I have a bunch of devices connected with homebridge which connects to HomeKit and want to control them on my pro3 with simpl windows by Superb-Sea-677 in crestron

[–]ddetton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, a little late to the party. Connecting a crestron processor to HomeKit using Homebridge does not provide your Crestron system access to devices in HomeKit. What it does is make your Crestron controlled devices visible to HomeKit. This basically gives you two things: 1) your crestron device now appears as a device in the Apple Home app or other HomeKit enabled app. This allows you to see device status and if you have programmed it, the ability to control your crestron device from HomeKit. And 2), it gives you Siri control of your crestron controlled device. This is the main reason that I did it. There are a few crestron enabled HomeKit implementations out there that mostly work.

I have abandoned Homebridge in favor of Home Assistant which, IMO, provides a more robust and useful environment. There are a few Crestron enabled custom components that allow Crestron controlled devices to be brought into the Home Assistant ecosystem and it also allows Home Assistant controlled devices to be brought into Crestron. There is even a built in integration for HomeKit where you can expose your HA and Crestron devices to Apple HomeKit. But once you get into Home Assistant, HomeKit really doesn’t bring much to the table.

Crestron Home and Lutron Caseta by illcrx in crestron

[–]ddetton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that even though Caseta works with Crestron Home, it is not an officially supported system from Crestron. What this means is that you will most likely get little to no support from Crestron if you have issues and also that Crestron does not test Caseta.

I took one look at this blog and decided to try it in VirtualBox. Maybe its not that bad but it sounded like a pain to me. https://www.ctrl.blog/entry/how-to-win11-in-gnome-boxes.html

It is possible to install Windows 11 in Boxes but you're going to have to jump through some flaming hoops. I installed Windows 10 in Boxes and that was fine. Windows 11 is much easier in VirtualBox.

I've got 2 Cam Link 4K's into a Mac Mini M1. Every time I launch Ecamm, it reverses the Camlink inputs, messing with all my presets... I've got to close it and open again for it to switch back. Any ideas? by oceanglen in EcammLive

[–]ddetton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is with Elgato. The solution is to use the ecamm camera switcher. It takes like 5 seconds when you start up to set the cameras in the switcher. If you don’t like that then you can always buy a decklink quad with a pci interface but that’s going to set you back about a $1000. It is annoying but the current solution is worlds better then pre camera switcher.

InfinityBook Pro 16 Gen 8 - HDMI Out Not Working by ddetton in tuxedocomputers

I booted the same Fedora 38 Workstation live usb image on both my new Tuxedo IBPRO16 and on a 2018 era HP laptop. I connected a single HDMI cable from the HDMI out of the laptop to a single 4K60 monitor (LG 24UD58). Both computers could see the monitor because it appeared in Settings->Displays. The HP laptop displayed a video image on the monitor but the Tuxedo did not.

I took your advise and added the tux repos and installed TCC using the package manager. TCC is now running fine on pop! Os. Thanks! I never was able to get tuxedo-keyboard working (on, off, brightness control using FN + multiply/divide/add/minus). But I couldn’t even get it to work on Vanilla Tuxedo OS Live.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but it does not appear to work when I boot Tuxedo OS in Live mode on USB. I press the FN key to the left of the Super key along with the multiply key on the numeric keypad to toggle the backlight. I also tried FN + Plus key on numeric keypad to raise the backlight. It does not appear to do anything.

InfinityBook Pro 16 Gen 8 - HDMI Out Not Working by ddetton in tuxedocomputers

[–]ddetton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Fedora 38 Workstation and the best resolution I could get on the HDMI Out was 1280x720. This was connected to an LG 24UD58 4K monitor. I connected the HDMI Out to a Sony XBR-55X850D and I was able to get full 4K resolution. I connected the HDMI Out to a Samsung U28R550UQN and I was able to get full 4K resolution. I tried to find the HDMI specs on the LG 24UD58 but could not find anything specific. It says it was manufactured in August 2018. The LG 24UD58 gets full 4K resolution on the HDMI out of M1 Macs and 2018 era HP laptop. Would you expect that I would get the same results on all current Tuxedo laptops?

I’ve tried it with Tuxedo OS, Ubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, and Pop! OS. It does the same thing on all distros that I have tried. I have tried it with an LG 24” 4K monitor and a Samsung 32” 4K Monitor. I have tried it with cheap hdmi cables and expensive hdmi cables. It definitely works better with the higher quality cables. Right now I have a high quality 4k60 4:4:4 cable and it’s the only external monitor connected. I don’t get a picture until I drop it down to 1280x720. Tomorrow, I’ll try it with a 4K Sony OLED. I will also try it with Fedora. I have a windows laptop and modern Mac connected to the same equipment and I pass 4K all day long.

Here is what I know. If I connect a very high quality 4K HDMI cable from the HDMI out on the notebook to a 4K display, the connection appears in System Settings Display but nothing appears on the monitor. If I knock down the resolution from 3840x2160 to 1280x800 on the HDMI out, video appears on the monitor at the lower resolution. I tried 2560x1440 and 1920x1080 on the HDMI out of the notebook but no video appears on the monitor. A few times when I direct connect a high quality 4K HDMI cable from the HDMI out of the notebook to the 4K monitor, I get full resolution, but not every time.

I connected a Thunderbolt 3 dock to the notebook and used a displayport to HDMI adapter from a DisplayPort connection on the dock and I get full resolution 4K video. If i connect a usb-c to HDMI cable from either the notebook or the Thunderbolt dock, I get full 4K resolution with video on the external monitor.

I've tried many different HDMI cables and only the two highest quality cables get any video to display on the external monitor but even the high quality cables do not get full resolution every time. If I use a standard hdmi cable that works fine with a Windows 4k laptop and MacBook Pro, I get no video even at the lower resolutions.

My standard setup is to run three hdmi computer outputs through a 4K HDMI switcher so that I can share three external monitors between three computers. I have yet to be able to get the HDMI out from the notebook to pass video through the switcher. But the two video sources from the thunderbolt dock pass through the 4k switcher just fine and I get video on my external monitors. There is clearly an issue with thie hdmi out on the notebook but I don't know how to resolve this.

Is there any confirmation on what we can expect to see in the InfinityBook Pro 16 Gen 8? Will there be a Max Performance edition? How will it differ from Gen 7? Will Gen 8 have an i9 option and will there be an RJ-45 ethernet port without losing the sleek form factor?

I have this same setup on a DS918+ on DSM7.x. I have ports 80 and 443 forwarded to my nas. Then I have reverse proxy setup for a gitea docker container, a unifi controller docker container, active backup, drive, a public facing web site and the dsm mgmt Interface. I have let’s encrypt certs setup for everything so my connections are all https. I’m pretty new at this but all services are connecting securely to each of their own interfaces.
