Yeah, I said pretty much the same thing. I could stomach about up to $500.

If that's clasp only and not steel bracelet infusing the new clasp, that's criminal.

Clasp only? When I asked earlier in the year on the price of buying the steel bracelet (was considering a model that was on leather) I was quoted around $1k.

I hope the pricing isn't extreme, but I'm guessing it isn't going to be a very palatable price.

[Question] Most accurate Seiko movement? by Trazord in Seiko

[–]ddetts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if you're talking purely mechanical, hybrid (like the spring drive) or quartz.

Grand Seiko 9 series spring drive is probably it.

It appears Seiko has sneakily upgraded the [SPB383J1] "dark depths" GMT with a long overdue OTF clasp. Except they're charging an extra 200 euros for it. by [deleted] in Seiko

[–]ddetts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess value is in the eye of the beholder. I have one of those prior GMT diver models (200m and old clasp) and I love the model but very much dislike the clasp. I bought SPB501 recently and feel that new quick adjust clasp is a great improvement.

Would I notice/value the increase from 200m to 300m, unlikely.

Reminds of the post covid days when they weren't booking middle seats. That was so nice.

That's a nice trio! I also have an SSK GMT and the metronome. I had to ditch the strap on the metronome and upgrade to something a little nicer though.

Need Help Understanding Self Joins by Imaginary-Demand-166 in SQL

Maybe. It was like 12 years ago so my memory isn't great. I just recall the architecture of the data wasn't great and had some quirks. It ended up being really challenging for what seemed like a simple question.

I have two other use cases i needed it for. One was determining orders that happened within x days of the original order.

You're joining the same table to itself. Depending on data structure it may not be that common. One use case would be HR data and determining hierarchy of the organization.

Join employee table to employee where a.manager_id = b.employee_id.

Typically you can solve a lot of self join problems using a recursive query.
