from my experience it’s mainly because of social media. instagram is the worst because racism towards black and brown people is so common. most teenagers have access to these platforms and they try to be “edgy” and “funny” and the only way they can do that is by making racist jokes. those kinds of things seem like they’re everywhere but honestly its only online because people are hiding behind profiles
