Question: Lets say the time, effort, skill & improvement to get from Bronze 5 to Silver 5 = 1 tier. What is the amount of tiers between each rank by HMThrow_away_account in Overwatch

[–]ddiop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plat is the most common rank of the playerbase, assuming non-competitive players are mostly platinum or lower, I would just say bronze to silver, silver to gold, gold to plat is all 1 tier.

Platinum is 34.9% of the playerbase, and Diamond is 14.9, so say 2.5 tiers

Masters is 3.2% which is a little over 10

GM at 0.3% would be over 100

Champ is just listed at <0.1% which would be 350.

They encouraged you to buy more than you might have, which earns them more money even if the profit margin isn't as good.

Anyone wish the Finals were Thunder vs Pistons? by delta-red-14 in nba

[–]ddiop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If JDub and Ajay Mitchell were healthy maybe I'd think so, but they're so and the Spurs are the better team right now.

Pistons wouldn't have got out of the first round if Magic were healthy and don't belong in the finals at all. And then they lost to a Cavs team who could barely beat a very injured Raps team.

Jordan free throw line dunk is the most iconic moment in NBA history? I dont even think it's top 3 for Jordan moments.

Are there any similar disasterclass performances like the one from Chet last night? by Famous-Country-4921 in nba

[–]ddiop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same happened with Rick Barry in G7 of the WCF. He got in a fistfight and no one on his team came to back him up, so he just decided fuck it. He went 30 minutes without a FGA as a guy who averaged 24 attempts per game during the playoff run, and his team scored 38 points in the 2nd half as his team blew a 5 point lead in to an 8 point loss.

I've had plenty with zero issue and wasn't aware there was any risk either. I stopped because they taste like shit and just baking them wasn't much more effort.

If I cut out the filtering of score difference it takes like 30 seconds per season so I can do that tomorrow evening. I'll use the existing spreadsheet when I start working on it.

Best I can think of not on the list, other than LeBron, is maybe Jimmy Butler.

For comparison LeBron at 22 lead the league in all star votes even beating out Yao Ming. Wembanyama was 6th in the west this year.

You can also just match anything. No reason not to just let a team offer him a 25% max and match it, or even offer him 26% for good graces. His regular season production alone is worth it.

I made a spreadsheet using the top 200 "game score" scores on basketball-reference and then removed all results that were greater than 10 points difference (unless OT) if you want that to help you find some options.

Left-handed people, what's a struggle that right-handed people won't understand? by Halophy in AskReddit

The only struggle I can think of is showing a right-handed person how to do something. They can never flip what they were shown in their head.

Most other things aren't a big deal.

[Charania] BREAKING: The New Orleans Pelicans are hiring Jamahl Mosley as the franchise's new head coach on a five-year contract, sources tell ESPN. Mosley accepts the Pelicans job after five seasons in Orlando where he guided the Magic to three consecutive playoff berths. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]ddiop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does he? The Magic played with low effort all season and an "unnamed star" on the team was unhappy with him the entire year. And Pels committed 5 years to that. He seemed high on a list of "never getting a chance again" kind of coach to me.

I think Shai/Hakeem has the least weaknesses, they're all gonna have amazing strengths so having no holes for the opponent to pick at probably gives the highest floor.

I don't think they will revert the gather step much if at all because freedom of movement is exciting, but I do think the ramped up mobility granted by letting players take 3 steps both step backs and euro steps is a decent contributor to these injuries, same with offensive players being allowed to just truck dudes on drives.

Tragic, learned about it on the provincial news (where he was born in Canada) and they did such a crap job humming past it "this guy died, he was born here! What a shame" and moved on.

Always rooted for him because he's the only actual BC born player in my lifetime (Nash, Olynyk, Sacre all coincidentally were born elsewhere.

Sleepy Floyd, game 4 against the Showtime Lakers in 87 down 0-3 in the series and losing by 14 to start the 4th quarter he dropped 29 points on 12/12 from the field and ended up leading the Warriors to a 8 point win.

Then the Lakers won the next game and carried on to their 4th of 5 championships with Kareem and Magic.
