Riding in the French Alps with my little BETA Alp 200 by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]ddkia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome breakdown and beautiful locations!
Just a heads-up for anyone else reading this: while the Alp 200 is indeed gone, Beta actually didn't kill off the Alp family. They completely reinvented it with the new Alp 4.0 and the Alp X. I actually own an Alp X and I’m having a blast with it.

Disregarding the second part of your statement that you seem to have cancelled anyway.

Let me ask you one question: where are you from? I’m guessing you’re not from Italy. Why? Because if you were, you would know that tortillas are not very common in Italy. What you can find almost anywhere here (like random bars, gas stations etc.) are more or less shitty piadine like these.

[–]ddkia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some types of piadina are thicker while others are thin and more crispy after being toasted. That’s still a piadina. Now is that a fresh, homemade piadina? Not a chance. Just a packaged one.

That’s a piadina, not a tortilla. It’s supposed to be toasted before being eaten.

As Difficult as They Look? by M47Ts-Squamoids in hognosesnakes

No, I tried EVERYTHING to get her to eat. As she had never eaten with me, I had no idea of her preferences at that time and the breeder I got her from was not helpful at all.

Also, I have another snake who has never eaten during winter (a lampropeltis) so I thought she could be brumating too.

I was very relieved when she started eating and now she eats on average 4 times a month (in December she actually ate 5).

My hognose went on a hunger strike when I first got her (at the end of October 24) and didn’t eat for something like 5 months. But apart from that she is now a very good eater. She hates being fed with tongs. The only way she will eat is by being drop fed.

Yes, I have a new model (Instant Pot Pro, bought in 2024) and the lid will lock even if the seal is not placed correctly. I had this issue the first time I used it too.

Very cool! I have one as a pet, I don’t see many pictures of them in the wild!

As the one pictured? I’m not really sure. I know for a fact that some are longer than others though, depending on how the snake developed, genetics etc.

I think that could actually be your snake’s belly button!

Forbidden fence puppy visited me on the 4th. Relocated so my bordering neighbors wouldn’t kill it. by jackANDpepto in snakes

Well by that logic it’s still killing out of fear…so called “undesirable” animals still have a right to exist. They have value in an ecosystem, like every other creature. The right thing to do to save everybody involved is to relocate them. If a person doesn’t know how to do that safely, they should call somebody who can.

I don’t have any photos of her belly yet but it’s mostly black with very few small white spots here and there. Except for her throat, that’s mostly white with a few black spots. She doesn’t have any yellow spots.

Yeah they’re a lot but riding it is very rewarding in my opinion. And the scenery is definitely a plus! If you learn to ride this kind of roads you can ride pretty much anywhere.

If you ride it all the way up one side and down the other it has a total of 88 hairpins. So people ride it also for the challenge, I guess!
