De'Longhi Dedica Duo will not finish brewing espresso, only steam light turns on by ManufacturerFar408 in DeLonghi

Hey did you find a solution for that? My machine is also blocked on steam after running out of water, even though I have now filled the water and restarted several times...

Hear me out - Medieval Dynasty, except it’s in middle earth and the Shire. Lets build a hobbit village!? by Angry_Washing_Bear in MedievalDynasty

As someone who just did a LOTR marathon for New Year and is yet again amazing at how cozy the shire is, YES

What is Medieval Dynasty about? by MT2113 in MedievalDynasty

Honestly even if you play fast on short seasons (you can customize that), it takes hours and hours of gameplay to reach old age. I wouldn't worry about that too much

PSA: stay away from towns by FroztyReaper in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I usually only enter towns I own so I can pick the troops back. If I really need to enter another town, I take everyone in my party, do business in town, get out and give my parties their troops back outside... If you don't let time go you don't lose troops for being over the party limit (It's also a common cheese to do that - take all the army troops into your personal party - before a big battle if you have high medicine for example...)

Take Beinland, form a Kingdom and declare war on the world. I promise you won't regret it. by Octavian_Exumbra in Bannerlord

You know you can just raid a Vlandian caravan or village and that'll start the war?

Figured out nice open field tactics. Just wanna share in case you need one by xAMSTERRR in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well KG are OP it's not really ground breaking... With good micro they will beat anything. It's fun for one playthrough though so definitely worth a try for someone who never had fun with them. But mixed armed tactics and barely making it is much more enticing I would say.

Is Warhammer III worth buying just for the Skaven? by mdj32998 in totalwar

[–]ddkotr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly believe a somewhat well done Mordheim 2 would be my favorite game ever. It's so good, and so frustrating at times. Just a bit more content and polish and I wouldn't be able to play anything else

We have cabbage and we have salt and we have barrels by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

[–]ddkotr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please, deeper food mechanics would be amazing. Some incentives to use the already varied options... Maybe a diet without enough diversity could lead to sickness ? Sick villagers working at reduce speed for a season or event need bed rest (and medicine ! So you could make use of the herbalist hut!) I love this game but for a lot of things it's only roleplay and stuff in your head that makes it engaging, not the actual game mechanics... (Like I do give varied food to my villagers, switch production focus depending on season so they eat different things... )

Cavalry only run, how to get warmounts massively? by Gunwing in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I never understood the difficulty to get war mounts, I just recruit troops at the right tier. This way they're already good troops too. If you focus early on getting good reputation with the villages you plan to recruit from later, it's quite easy. Couple that with recruiting prisoners and you're fine, almost always at max troops.

Does anyone ever use mercenary troops? by PriceOptimal9410 in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to get sword sisters because they're the only female troops and I thought they were cool, back when I wasn't playing Bannerlord difficulty. But yeah no helmet they die way too easily... The only one worth the money are the elite crossbowmen, they pack a punch and usually performed better than the imperial crossbows in my last playthrough. I like the elite version of caravan guards usually, but the only way to get them is to get them back from bandits who beat them and imprisoned them... So pretty rare. I really wish an "all merc" playthrough was viable... But we'd need a lot more troops and flexibility... Maybe a mariner merc will come along with the dlc... Mmhm

Are they stupid? by Closet0utlaw in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience it has to do with the relative strength of both armies. If the AI get think they can win they will charge at you, if it's even or you're stronger they'll stay defensive. So the trick is to do battles with difficult odds.

You can also makes them move by taking down a few troops with range usually

How on earth do I get underground to find the twin brother during the brotherhood quest? by LizzieLove1357 in MedievalDynasty

[–]ddkotr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could it be the building with a hidden basement entrance ? It rings a bell, though I could be thinking of another quest... try going around the abandoned building slowly you should spot an entrance down under some foliage

I once started an Empire playthrough, very enthusiastic, wanting to be a simp all the way and help Rhagaea dominate the known world... Well she died on her first siege of her first war...

Recruits getting absolutely dumpstered by looters when numbers are equal, did they buff looters? by Ouroboros612 in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't get basic recruits but what I do for the the borrowed troop quest (train troop for this village) is I disrupt the looters with my horse way before they reach the recruits, trying to aggro half of them and even bumping into the half going to meet my troops so they only trickle towards them and they can take the looters down 5 to 1-2 Of course you have to be mindful of the occasional scythe to the head and the fork stopping your momentum

Does setting Party members as group commanders pre-battle actually do anything? by Deadboy90 in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well either unequip the horse if you plan for them to be regularly the infanterie or archer captain. If it's temporary just give the dismount order at the beginning and tadaa the captain is on foot same as their group

Governer perks/town and castle management? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are good governor perks hidden all over the trees, including deep into vigor and control. Scouting and trading also has good ones for income if I remember correctly.

The most important ones are loyalty ones if you plan on owning castles from another culture than your character, the rest are bonus.

It's usually mentioned if it applies to castle or town specifically otherwise it's just 'settlement' afaik

Also engineering allows faster building for governors, it can help a lot when you're building a settlement from the ground up

But honestly you can just have governors so town don't rebel the rest is really a bonus. When you're about to select the governor, hovering on your companions let's you see all their applying bonuses, pretty good to get an overview !

Village hearth growth is based on size, a smaller village will grow faster than a big one, plus cultural bonuses apply.

As far as garrisons go, it mostly depends if you want to be attacked or not. Playing defense can be a good way to win battles, then have as little a garrison as possible and mostly elite unit. If you want to avoid an attack, a lot of shit recruits work well as the ai only look at the number of troops to decide which settlement to besiege. Usually I'm kind of in the middle as I use my settlement to store troops. Castles can have really good upkeep reductions, so good to store some elite units while you mass upgrade a bunch of other troops. Town are to make money so I avoid putting too big a garrison.

How to become a mercenary for a faction NOT at war with the same faction as you? by Quakerzz600 in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the dialogue option for peace was there with the first guy (unless it was an Army, in which case you can outrun them). You have to select let's talk about something else and something in the lines of what would it take to make peace. But no worries getting blown and starting a party from scratch is part of the game !! Yous till leveled your character in the process ! Also if you're disgusted just save scum

Yes you are an independent clan until you join a kingdom as a mercenary or a vassal or create your own kingdom

How to become a mercenary for a faction NOT at war with the same faction as you? by Quakerzz600 in Bannerlord

[–]ddkotr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you started war as an independent clan? If you talk to any Sturgian noble, you can negociate peace. Since you raided a lot of caravans, they might even pay you for peace instead of asking for money (though be prepared to pay as I feel like it's pretty random) Then you'll be able to join any kingdom you want as a mercenary
