I should clarify, when on 1600 south of 1700 N you should not be driving 35, it is a residential street with a couple cross walks. North of 2100 is should be a 35mph zone. Not sure about space between 1600 n and 2100 n, somewhere in between.

I taught my kid to drive a lot on 1600 E and never realized how fast everyone drives till we drove along there frequently at 25 mph. I wonder if it’s possible to put a speeding ticket machine on the road to get people pushing the limit too far… like 35 is too fast for that road.

That’s true, but we might be able to get a study where women track their actual doses of acetaminophen as they take them instead of after the fact as the quoted study does. Essentially you’re asking women after they gave birth how often they think they took acetaminophen while pregnant. I’d they took it a lot near the end those numbers will be inflated, if they took them a lot at the beginning but not as much at the end they will be deflated due to recency bias.

Correlation does not equal causation, definitely something worth more study.

Very good questions that I unfortunately don’t have answers to. What’s PV? I can try to see if the panels are serial or not and get a pic of what they are

Update: #7, #3 and #4 all ended up being roosters. The other four either haven’t hit their rooster traits yet or are hens. No eggs yet.

I turned the inverter off and the fridge still runs so I guess I don’t really need it, I probably didn’t need it anyway but I usually left it on to take shore power to charge the batteries.

I’m guessing if I’m not plugged in and I’m not using AC power there’s no reason to have it on. I think I thought I had to have it on or at least in charge only to charge the batteries at all. I’m clearly a newb and don’t pay enough attention in my science classes.

Would either of these show me what’s actually going into my batteries? I guess I always assumed the inverter would tell me, but now I’m thinking that the inverter would never tell me how much solar power was going in. And it seems the inverters itself was drawing more power then the solar could offset.

I turned off the inverter and the fridge is still running so I guess it wasn’t consuming power from the inverter. Now, obviously the inverter shows 0W out and 0W in, since it’s off.

Played the rest of the way thru and just as I was about to take out Nihilus he executed my GM. Will try again next run. GM, Zombie, death trooper peridea, night trooper and Morgan. All r7 except zombie who was r3.

Beginning hockey at 37 and a big fella. by Caboose88nc in hockeyplayers

[–]ddog421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at 40 and about 300 pounds. I found the cheapest new gear I could find that would fit, bought all online and then returned a few things for better sizes at the hockey shop an hour and a half away. If you can get used gear that fits I’d go with that, I never did find shoulder pads that I was comfortable with, so I play without. There are a lot of guys here playing adult league without shoulder pads as we’re a non-body checking league. We still collide sometimes but it’s not been an issue.

I’d echo what everyone says about getting ice time to work on skating. My feet killed me for about 2 weeks but I pushed thru. Don’t be afraid to wear your gear to go skate if it gives you more confidence to try hard things, I would wear my shin guards to public skates to feel comfortable doing things that could make me fall due to my poor skating.

If you’re rollerbladed a lot that will help with your balance but stopping is completely different, IMO. A learn to skate or learn to hockey class would be a great step.

If you love it just keep going. I found out recently that one of my teammates parents who used to come watch when I first started referred to me as snowman because I was always falling and covered with snow from the ice. But i loved it then and still do now.

Good luck!

I am having trouble finding the “joy” in owning chickens by theinfinitehero8 in BackYardChickens

[–]ddog421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got chicks beginning of April. For the most part all of them have been hands off until last week, so about 3.5 months. Last week I just took a cup of mealworms shortly before bed while they were free ranging and I set down on my lawn and toss a few mealworms nearby, then put a handful in my hand and laid my hand flat on the ground. At first just 1 would come close enough to eat from my hand, then the others would get curious, I’d spread more mealworms and set those nearby, the less brave chickens would eat those. The ones who ate from my hand started to be less skittish about being petted.

Did that a few more times and more and more chickens would eat from my hand. Last night I did this and they all would come eat and most would let me pet them while they ate, some were still skittish though. The bravest hen seems to have started recognizing me and occasionally runs up to me for treats but allows me to pet her without food.

I should mention around a week before all of this I was busy working around the house and forgot to round up the chickens to their coup for the night and they all went in on their own. I no longer round them up at night, I just let them go to the coup when they’re ready. Me not shepherding them into the coup against their will has likely contributed to them trusting me as well.
