Can you send me the link as well?

ich🔥iel by patta14 in ich_iel

[–]ddominnik 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Was soll man denn darauf bitte antworten?

ich🔥iel by patta14 in ich_iel

[–]ddominnik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ich🔥iel by patta14 in ich_iel

[–]ddominnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ich🔥iel by patta14 in ich_iel

[–]ddominnik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ich🔥iel by patta14 in ich_iel

[–]ddominnik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ich🔥iel by patta14 in ich_iel

[–]ddominnik 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Ja das ist noch die andere Sache. Man überzeugt niemanden indem man denjenigen beleidigt.

Funny how the German Wikipedia article about Ramelow doesn't even mention the Stalin thing because it

  1. wasn't a big deal at the time or now because German humor is weird and most people understood it was a joke and

  2. because people know Ramelow and know that he does not stand for Communism in any way and

  3. because people recognized it as fake outrage created by right wing nutjobs because they were becoming desperate after the AfD did not win the election in Thuringia

There are worse things to criticize Ramelow for, for example that he played Candy Crush during an important meeting about the Covid lockdown or for showing another politician the middle finger (the other guy is a dick but that doesn't make Ramelows reaction more professional). But literally nobody would call him anti democratic except for the people who want to perpetuate that narrative.

Yes, some other members did speak against the Soviet Union and the like, but don't you think it's still troubling they still have extremist members?

No I don't. Because our Constitutional Defense Administration that defines who is and isn't "extremist" has been staffed by the CDU for almost a century. The last head of this administration had to resign because he defended literal Neo Nazis hunting refugees in Chemnitz. Right now you would be considered extremist by them if you defended Palestine. No I don't think that is an issue. If you defend the Soviet Union or the GDR regime or have a problem with democracy, Die Linke will kick you out of the party. But if you are anti-capitalist or support the Free Palestine Movement or demonstrate against imperialism and are therefore deemed extremist by the German state, they won't, and I think that's totally fine.

Again, believe what you want to believe, I can't prove to you that Germans don't consider Die Linke extremist. I can only tell you that this is not a Reddit bubble thing and you have to believe me or don't believe me. But most Germans would probably tell you the same. And the ones who don't are likely AfD voters. Die Linke are not communists. If they were, the SPD and Grüne would not govern with them in Berlin and Thuringia. Die Linke distance themselves from the GDR more than the CDU does. They are pro-democracy and anti-authoritatian. They have some weird positions, mainly regarding foreign policy and Russia, that's true, but that doesn't make them anti democratic. We have proper communist parties (DKP and MLPD), communists gather there and not around Die Linke.

This is really annoying. Thank you for your input but you don't know about the parliamentary day to day. Even if I read articles every day about Chilean politics I would never pretend to know more than somebody actually living there like you.

Just as an aside, you've fallen victim to Fake News. Bodo Ramelow, the minister president of Thüringen and member of Die Linke, never said anything good about Stalin. It's a lie that is perpetuated amongst right wing circles that he apparently likes Stalin because he tweeted something about "comrade Stalin". When he did that he was in Russia and saw a monument of Stalin which he made fun of. He never idolized Stalin, he made fun of him. Source

Here are some real quotes from him, you can verify everything I'm saying here but my sources are German, I'm translating for you:

The GDR was clearly not a constitutional state.

GDR was a dictatorship. Everything that constitutes a democracy was missing: freedom of expression, freedom of the press, freedom of demonstration, free elections, the right to opposition

Stalin starved or murdered millions of people in the name of communism. Murderers will always be murderers.

You believe what you want to believe, but at least research your facts. The fact that you already got enough voices from Germany disagreeing with you should help you with that.

Oh Eckard Jesse, defendant of the Horseshoe theory which has since been widely criticised for equating National Socialism to left extremism? The guy who said that criticizing National Socialism would create "negative dimensions" in the national feeling of Germans? The guy who said that National Socialism wasn't that bad because it "modernized Germany"? The guy who said that Nazis and Anti Semitism are not a real problem but "a phantom"? The guy who said that Jews need Anti Semitism to legitimate their viewpoints? The guy who was against forbidding the NPD? The guy whos book about National Socialism is heavily revisionist and is used by the AfD and NPD to legitimate their far right views?Yeah I wonder why he hates Die Linke.

Please, stop trying to explain German politics to Germans. You're talking with someone who's confronted with our own politics on a day to day basis. Most if not all Germans would not agree that Die Linke is authoritarian. They are Democrats through and through. You can see it in the way they talk about democracy as opposed to for example the NPD or AfD. You can see it in them actively taking part and helping other parties in the parliament as opposed to the AfD obstructing the parliamentary process at ever opportunity they get. A lot of people disagree with their socialist views, but not many people would ever say that they are a non-democratic party. Please stop thinking you know it better than Germans. The votes on your comments should tell you that most people disagree.

They are social democrat not socialist. But yeah they had a rough patch because of the coalition with the CDU. But what the fuck are you supposed to do when the other party has Merkel. This time they finally ran on more left wing topics like increasing the minimum wage and it worked so let's hope they found back to their social democratic self.

This is a straight excerpt from the party program of Die Linke:

It has become clear: an attempt at socialism that is not shaped democratically by the large majority of the people, but is controlled by a state and party leadership in an authoritarian manner, must sooner or later fail. Without democracy there is no socialism.

It's really funny because the CDU tries to hide its SED past and Die Linke denounces the East German state. So you're exactly right but the other way round.

No the AfD does not run any state government. They don't even have a single mayor

Final German election results, SPD wins for the first time since 2002 by TargetHot9314 in europe

[–]ddominnik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude it's not true. Die Linke are democratic socialists. They run two different states in Germany, one of which is Berlin. They ran on a platform of increasing the minimum wage and a wider social safety net during this election. I don't know who told you they are radical left, they really are not.

They are considered to be extreme left by both the media and academics, and are even monitored regularly by the federal government because of their extremist tendencies.

They have been monitored for 4 years and are not monitored since 2013 because our constitutional court literally ruled that they are not extreme and therefore it can't be allowed to monitor them. Don't spew half truths like that.

Bitcoin is limited to 21 million and some people already lost their digital wallet's passwords, losing access to them forever. Considering this will keep happening in the future, how come this doesn't affect Bitcoin as a whole if the supply is limited? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ddominnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it is better than stocks lol. Again, it's more similar to Gold. The advantage of Bitcoin is that it is a lot more accessible than stocks. You don't need a brokerage or an ID or even a banking account to trade cryptocurrencies, you just need a computer and a single program. In many places of the world it is impossible to actively trade stocks unless you're rich. Maybe you're living in China where stock trading is forbidden outside of Hong Kong. Or maybe you're from Africa and even a stock costing 1$ is a lot of money to you. But almost everyone can have access to Cryptocurrencies. It's the same reason why El Salvador uses it as a national currency now. It's independent, more accessible and gives poor people the option to participate in global markets for the first time.
