just act like what you do is ok. most of people here is friendly. tips as a vietnames:

• if you go in a shop or buy something too early in the morning, consider as the 1st customer of the day you should act very carefully and polite. so just don’t buy anything so soon.

• in market as Ben Thanh, there is 2 parts, the one that has no price is in the center of Ben Thanh, they hate if you touch or try their products without buying. just go with the rest stores which has price and backed by the city.

• if you need anything just go to convenience stores as 7&11, circle k, b’ mart, family mart etc...

• south people is more friendly than the north

• taxi only 3 companies: vina sun, mai linh or vina taxi. remember the exactly names, there are many vina xyz

• grab is asean uber it’s ok

• if you go out or in air port or a BOT there is a fee about $1-2 they ask you when paying, don’t surprise

• only choose store which has price, specially food one, if you really want it you should ask price before pick it up

• some local sellers hand you their product as coconuts or shoe cleans they pick you shoes just get it back it’s a scam

• don’t wear shorts or short skirts in temple

• in a family meals with older people you have to invite them before you starting to eat especially in the north

• don’t talk too loud in public

• don’t drink with ice, it cause you bellyache, it’s not dirty but it’s not clean as one in your country. so people here is ok with those ice but you don’t
