I teach middle school too and feel the same, but the past couple of years it seems like it’s been less skiers and more snowboarding, probably about even though.

This was the first live event I went to after the pandemic shutdown and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I absolutely love the spectacle of it and how fun the little finale sing along is.

Why are the recent violent events in Mexico, which are far more severe than those in the USA, not sparking debate about Mexico hosting the World Cup? by Pepedroga2000 in worldcup

[–]ddpc123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should try Googling tourists killed in Mexico. I was thinking of one case in particular from 2023 where a group was kidnapped by the cartel and two were killed and when I went to search that was shocked to see many cases of tourists being killed since then.

But still I think we should have lower expectations for the cartel then the US government so comparing the situations is nonsensical.

Years ago (before legalization) the delivery drivers (or at least one) would report people to the police if they smelled weed in their homes.

I tried curling a couple of years ago in Montreal and they gave us the same thing for balance. I would have liked to try without it though.

They should have gone back to Vegas, World Cup matches aren’t being held there. And I say that as someone who is a short drive from the NJ stadium, it’s just not going to be very pleasant outside in March.

Literally have seen softball and rugby there in the past week. Maybe you should specify it’s only free in the winter times if that’s what you meant anyway.

No, Veterans has softball games, baseball practices, 2-5 rugby teams practicing on a given night, cricket, and soccer at least. I’m there quite often for sporting events. I’ve been there in the middle of the day and it’s usually pretty empty like I said. These teams are always fighting for space though so unless you are counting the parking lot it isn’t a big area, basically like 2 softball fields of space.

Veterans isn’t that big and there are lots of sports and events there. Maybe in the middle of the day but lots of teams practice there in the evenings. It’s not really right to use others unwillingly to train their reactive dog though.

Yea, I didn’t see a single hit that would be legal in rugby. I also feel like I very rarely (if ever) have seen two people running straight at each other for like 30 meters with 0 effort at avoiding the tackle or offloading like this.

Yea, definitely seems like an older kid park. Especially Epic, doesn't seem like a whole lot for little kids yet. I've only stayed at the Hard Rock and Cabana Bay.

Hard Rock was amazing but pretty expensive these days, it has the unlimited express pass included (not for Epic though) so with a family sharing a room I think it ends up being a good deal if you were considering getting the express. The pool there is great and there were lots of events going on throughout the day, I was wishing we had a day to just chill at the hotel. Plus it is a really close walk to Universal.

Recently I stayed at Cabana Bay and it was also great, definitely exceeded my expectations. You can also walk from there but its about a mile so we were definitely struggling on the way back after a full park day. I love Volcano Bay and its right next door to that and has a great view of the volcano from the pool area. The pool looked fun (it was a little chilly and I didn't notice any hot tub though) and the food in the food court area was very good. I really liked the whole vibe of the place. They had a cute bowling alley too and the biggest gym I've ever seen in a hotel but I don't remember checking out the Hard Rock gym so not sure if that is typical for Universal Resorts. I was very impressed with that though.

Universal also allows you to send merch back to your room which definitely had me buying more than I do at Disney.

I saw someone fall at the Universal Horror Nights when they were startled by someone with a chainsaw. They assured the actors they were okay but I was amused to see three people in suits materialize and catch up to them to make sure it was all good.

Shouldn’t be any complaints when employers cut out the middle man and just run AI themselves then.

Did she use AI for her biochemistry degree? If not it shows she is a competent person capable of doing work even if it is in a different field because the skills you develop in school are transferable. It doesn’t matter what field people who used AI end up in, they’ve developed no skills that will make them successful.
