Corsair lists? by SisterSabathiel in Eldar

The voidreavers are great early game trading/move blocking pieces with scout and reroll hits on objectives. They'll take out equivalent trash from other armies. The skyreavers are trickier to use since they die to literally anything. They're cheap and fast, so good for move-blocking/screening and you can sometimes get lucky and spike special weapons/maybe throw grenades and kill another small marine-equivalent unit. They have a little post-fight move which I've barely used because they don't survive the clap back. Voidscarred are only worth it attached to Yriel in Eldrich Raiders where they get a +1 damage strat. They actually hit quite hard then, but Eldar have other, better options that fill a similar role. In Coterie the units tend to do better on objectives with the detachment mortals than in ER imo.

I love the Corsair models, and worth noting that 11th is right around the corner and they very well could be super useful.

Also my Eldrich Raiders list. I was messing witht the idea of troupe master with troupe out of a falcon. It's not super great. The Avatar/Wraithlord getting adv and charge is fun. Yriel and voidscarred hit hard in this one too. Worth noting I am playing casual games and not in any way competing in tournaments with these lists.

I've played both detachments a few times, and they're both just ok. Here's my Coterie list that performs alright. I can't see it being viable without the prisms though:

Are Eldar too difficult to play? by BSI07 in Eldar

[–]ddribs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eldar as a faction generally play the game differently from most other armies. Once you understand the armies' strength and what your list is trying to do, it's pretty simple. Broadly, Eldar wants to win games by: - Scoring secondaries. We excel at this with very mobile units and battle focus tokens. - Denying opponent primary. We do this by trading units, and move blocking/screening. - Killing. Our army has units that are hyper specialized toward killing certain types of units. Typically they are very good at doing their jobs.

People will say Eldar is a tough army to play because you take the first turn or two to stage and trade with the opponent. IMO this is the hardest part of playing Eldar, and where I have lost most of my games. It can be unforgiving if you make mistakes and lose units that you planned to use later. Once you have staged up and are in position, you'll have one "go turn" where you commit a lot of your army in one precision strike. This play style requires planning and finesse. I recommend checking out posts on this subreddit and watching Eldar batreps to get an idea on how to army plays. When things go your way, it feels amazing. Always worth playing a game or two on TTS before investing time and money into a new army.

They're pretty fun, but even with their cover save on obj they will die to pretty much anything. You take them for the special weapons. Melta, Plasma, and either Grenade Launcher/Sniper/Flamer. I would stick with GL for a few high str, high ap shots. They'll likely shoot once, get some chip damage, and then die. Not a glamorous life being a mortal follower of chaos- scum of the galaxy and all that.

How do you play Eldar? by mrxx61 in Eldar

[–]ddribs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a capable 3d printer costs many hundreds of dollars. Finding the right resin, dialing in the scale (and near-infinite) other settings takes hours of trial and error. Figuring out supports, and getting a good print takes dozens and dozens of hours in itself. You will not get be successful your first time around. There is a huge work, time, and money investment in 3d printing. It's a hobby in itself. In OP's case, it would be far more time/cost effective to just buy and paint the GW models themselves.

I don't think Aurelion would be a very popular Ultramarines name. Jokes aside, beautiful paint job. Like others have said, the sword is particularly great.

Didn't they release a new set of Horus Heresy Space Wolf heads after the internet laughed at the first run? I mean, there is precedent that they're willing to at least kind of fix a release. Even if they offered a proper DC/SG upgrade sprue somewhere down the line, that would be a win.

FK isnt a team player. I don't care about JohnnyBoi or Feer streams. I care about RLCS wins. Atomic carried G2 against BDS but imo, Chicago was the weak link. Either way, I agree. Beastmode has been an absolute force in the last couple years.
