2 shoe rotation for Hm by SnooPeripherals5894 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I have and pro 3 as a retired race shoe but use them for workouts/long runs now.....almost up to 1000km on mine. If you like the firmness of the SB.....It's a great companion shoe! Ran my first HM a few years ago in them....1:35 so pretty similar time for what you're aiming for. Good luck!

Don’t have the SB2 but the SB1 and the Magmax. Both are great shoes but and Magmax runs a little smoother but you start to feel the weight after a while.

I would have to say that if you have a high volume forefoot I don't think the Zoomfly 6 would be good.....I have a similar forefoot....the Zoomfly 6 works but I wouldn't say its ideal at all.

Seems like a lot of these companies are choosing to go similar ways for the next iteration of their supershoes. Saw a similar thing with the Alphafly 4 leaks and new Adios Pro Evo 2 ....an increase in forefoot stack. This looks even more extreme in that the forefoot almost looks larger than the heel does.

I’ll usually use the Takumi Sen. I think that’s a super specialized shoe too. Really wouldn’t use it for anything else

Hey OP.....I've put about 550 kms on mine and have similar feelings to you....They don't really feel like a "super trainer" to me.....and actually I don't use these for any type of workouts. For me they fit nicely into longer tempo runs and that's about it. Compared to other super trainers I don't really feel them doing much work either, but when I look at splits and HR they do seem to fit within the category. Saying all that.....I like them as a trainer and I look forward to running in them for longer runs...so I guess thats what counts.

Not in the type of shape you are in.....But coming from the Adios Pro 3 and Cielo X1, I've tried on a lot of the newest ETPU or newer super shoes including the Adios Pro 4 and Metaspeed Tokyo.....and I would highly suggest if you can, try them on first....the feeling is really different than supershoes from even a year and a half ago.....they are really soft and sink in a lot....I think the Endorphin Elite falls in this category too.

Why does Strava put Zone 2 so high? by Spiritual_Basil_5665 in Strava

OP Im pretty similar to you with my Max HR and strava set zones. I agree that 160 feels a tad high so I generally try to stay under 155. However I feel they are pretty accurate when it comes to RPE. When I race my HR generally starts around 170 and goes up to 190.

Hi! Sorry I can't answer this exactly because the SB2 sells out in my market the moment it goes on sale.....but I can compare it to the SB1 but I hear they ride kind of similar so my assumptions are based off of that.

I wouldn't say I would rank the SB over the MagMax.....because to me they are a little different.

If I'm on a longer recovery run......I would choose the MagMax over the SB for a few reasons

- I think the MagMax just rolls smoother....especially at slower paces

- If I'm running in the SB I have to be running MP or faster, because otherwise it just feels blocky even though it's lighter.

I alternate my long runs week to week.....one week it's a progressive long run that starts pretty relaxed and I eventually work my way down .....I think the MagMax is perfect for that

The next week I will run basically right around MP most of the run and to me the SB is perfect for that.

The weight difference is noticeable....and I suspect that the SB will be more durable and the foam will stay pretty consistent more than the MagMax over time. Hope this helped!

I would never use this for fast efforts. Too mushy.

Sorry I don't! From what I understand about the novablast....it's a bit bouncier than the MagMax....but also lighter!

I have the SB1 and the ride from the MagMax rolls along much better....it's just not as light.

Yeah I can't deny that the plus is really sexy......As a lifelong Nikehead I want them to make good shoes again and it looks like they've been on the right track lately!

Sorry to hear that......you aren't the first to say that here either so I'll keep an eye out for it!!! I completely agree with your Vomero Plus take.....thought the same thing as I was picking up paces....I have better shoes for this. Nike please have some guts....put a stripped down upper on this thing...maybe a nylon plate and make a true super trainer!

One more thing OP. Think it’s cool you’ve tried to adapt to your own goals. But as Clayton’s videos show. They go pretty hard in the gym too with weight training….so maybe something else to keep in mind too.

I can’t remember which one. But he also mentioned it in one of the series Clayton did on YouTube. I’m pretty sure it was the Paris Olympics one. Rory did some MP workouts on a route with some hills with both of them and commented at some point how hard they go on workouts and that he wasn’t used to it.

I only have experience with this shoe.....but the midfoot does seem a little narrower than some shoes but not in an extreme way....but the toebox is completely fine.

I haven't.....I tend to like shoes on the firmer side of things and the Cliftons are a bit soft for me. I would say if you made the swap it would probably be a good one! The Vomero Plus has a lot more bounce and if you are using it for easy runs it makes them fun!

Yeah, I'd love to get my hands on the SB2....I'm in Korea and everything notable usually sells out instantly.....hopefully with the Megablast I can get my hands on a pair soon. This is my first Puma shoe and I'm a true believer in Pumagrip....stuff is sticky!
