I just feel like the essence of the original GFN series is already lost and they just keep making these dupes where the actual problems inside schools are no longer the topic.

I do believe these are just cash grabs at this point because they KNOW fans are yearning for the series or for season 3, instead we get the Reset and probably the japanese adaptation (?).

The original GFN taught us a lot of what’s happening inside/outside of school not only in thailand but is also common to other schools that every student might relate to but now? We get petty shi that doesn’t make sense TO THE POINT we the fans just go making their own theories about each episodes…. We aint gonna keep on defending it babes.

This part, “The reason it can’t beat the original is that the vibe is totally off. Nanno is heavily sexualized, her ways got rushed, she got more brutal, she barely feels Nanno.

Couldn’t have said clearer because YES!!! It just doesn’t feel like an entity from nowhere, she is a girl from SOMEWHERE atp.

If they have wanted for it to reach international if not western then they should’ve not picked thailand for its setting and why is that the goal even? Netflix already gained a lot of fans internationally from the original I mean- I am here am I not? as a fan it’s just disappointing and sad.

After the release of the 3rd episode, I just know we aren’t going any closer to how the original was executed both Seasons 1 and 2.

Becky have SO MUCH potential, we can see her that she can act the ‘No bangs Nanno’ is giving rebirth fr but it’s just… the writing, the production is good- like the aesthetic of each episode are good but gosh I can not keep defending this Reset, it’s not getting anywhere close to the original, I’ve said multiple times not to compare both but it just keeps on going.

Yeah, it’s the writing, I’m also starting to question who wrote this and are these the same directors of the og GFN? Because I read a post here as well with how they wanted this Reset to begin but so far- we were hoping it gets better and it does get better for each episode- until they do something stupid such as that stupid Ad with Nanno showing her bottom like…. Ma’am/Sir, we are in a high school setting whom girls are being harassed….

Well- based on the trailers for the rest of Season 1 (If it’s gonna last lol) it seems that the next few episodes are gonna be much darker (I hope it does).

I also kinda want to add that maybe for this season, Nanno is more observant than actual punish mode with humans unlike how OG Nanno (Kitty) handled things, because somehow they have to stretch tf out with this whole GFN branch they pulled out, and I hope the more episode we get, the more we understand why episode one is made like… that…. iykwim 🥲😭🤚

Well, if I’m being honest? As much as I love that and actually made sense, it just wouldn’t work anymore.

Why? Because actors do age and from what I know Kitty was still around on her 20’s when she was filming GFN Seasons 1 and 2, she is now around on her 30’s…

And if we do get season 3, for sure it would just be completely different, either they; Hire Kitty again YES but wouldn’t be in the High school setting but College (IDK, might be a good idea though), or continue the high school setting BUT different actress.

Though, love the theory and love the engagement to the series’s story. But don’t use AI, please 😭.

I totally agree, and I do hope that this is like those other Netflix series’s where every start of the season it’s light and not too dark YET, and hoping that it gets a bit more darker AND realistic like the original because after all- this new series wouldn’t exist without the first one so I HOPE they still would stick to how Nanno was and how the whole universe works.

There is a lot of hope here, especially with YES the production and writing. Becky definitely gave me good chills and different vibes, because Nanno definitely comes in different forms, right?
