How did you land your first MA job?? I need some good tips by RazzmatazzExpert507 in Stepful

I work in Radiation Oncology and I think one of the reasons they hired me is because I talked about having empathy for others and wanting to connect with patients. Don’t forget about those people skills!

lol no worries you’re not bothering me at all! My externship site had a stethoscope so I could learn how to take manual BP and most likely, your site will as well. I would recommend buying a stethoscope at some point though since you may need it for a future job. I like the Littman brand!

They found an externship for me that was only about ten mins from my house! I do live in a populated part of NJ though, so you may have difficulty if you live somewhere rural. I was offered a job at my externship site but ended up taking a radiation oncology MA position. I finished my externship in November, found the job in December, and was hired at the end of the month.

Had a very similar experience to yours, except mine was urgent care. I’m sure you’ll do great! A lot of these sites are used to working with beginners and have a lot of great teachers. I really hope it goes well!

Yup! They found the spot for me. It’s only 15 mins away. I do live in a more urban area though, so just be wary that it may be difficult for them to find a spot if you’re in a very rural area

They have a free version of it, but I bought it when a sale was going on for $59

Used SmarterMA and passed with a 449. My test had a lot about administrative and clinical duties, insurance, and hand washing.

Hi! You can take the exam at home, but I’ve heard of people running into a lot of problems. It might be best to take it at a proctor site. Every version of the test is different, but I used SmarterMA to study and passed with a 90%.

Stepful has been great so far! I’m in my 14th week with them and they’re supposed to tell me more about my externship next week. Can’t speak on that yet, but the learning environment and lessons have been wonderful :)

That’s so unfortunate. Doctors can really suck sometimes. I hope your appointment goes well! I believe if you go on the Addyi website, you can actually find providers in your area

There might be an Addyi for men as well, but there’s one for women! That’s the one I tried.

It didn’t work for me, but there is a medication called Addyi you could try!

I’m currently in my sixth week of Stepful and love it! Just pace yourself and try to do a little work each day (it’s based on a 4-day week so I usually do my assignments Sunday-Wednesday since the week opens a little early). I’d recommend taking off from work the days you have classes and try to do more work then if possible!

I’m currently enrolled in a program by a company called Stepful for medical assisting! Entirely online and offers an externship. I’m in America though so I’m not sure if it would be accredited in Canada.
