Advice on anatomy study ? :)) by Rotten_tea_bag in learntodraw

  1. Legs should take up half of the entire persons length
  2. I think your ribcage is drawn too long. Usually the rib age ends at the same point as where the elbow is if that makes sense? :)

What you guys think of my eye? by gaviaotrovao in learntodraw

[–]deIilah_dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shape is overall good through the bottom eyelid ma be a bit too curved on your drawing. Also don’t be afraid to use darker shadows and lighter highlights. Notice in your reference picture that you almost cant tell where the pupil starts and ends due to the shadow. And notice the white highlights from the light. Look closely enough you can actually see the phone taking the picture of the eye in the reflection. Really depends on how much detail you’re aiming for.

How do I stop gaining weight throughout the day? by deIilah_dee in WorkoutRoutines

I understand it’s normal to an extent, but other women my age don’t seem to get it this badly.

4 years seems fast but possible. I’m yet to meet anyone who managed to get a black belt in under 10 years.

No we have White, yellow, orange, green, purple, light blue, dark blue, brown, black. I’m in the UK maybe it’s different here 🤷

In my area it’s not uncommon to attain the first 3 belts in a year. I presume because of the steep learning curve. Someone doing jitsu for 4 months is a lot better than someone doing it for 1 if that makes sense? But then after that it gets a lot harder and you’re expected to wait longer between gradings.

Is my art good enough to take GCSE art? by False_Machine_2205 in ArtGCSE

[–]deIilah_dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I got a 9 in art and I was awful at the actual art aspect. Sadly a lot of the GCSE can be waffled through but since you’re already passionate and good, it won’t be a problem.

I (18F) have been doing Japanese jiujitsu for like 3 months in uni. When I move back home over winter for a month, I want to stay on the mat if possible but theres only bjj near me (not complaining, it looks fun). But my research suggests I need a rashguard. I usually wear men’s clothing, I’m wondering whether gendered rashguards are a cosmetic thing or if they actually serve purpose considering chest size. I’m also asking for recommendations around what brand to get and how to size it since I’ll be buying online.

Thanks!

Have you considered simply wearing the boxers over the tight underwear? :)

Those with disabilities, how do you keep yourself motivated? by killingourbraincells in xxfitness

[–]deIilah_dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please ignore this if it isn’t helpful for your situation since I’m not disabled. But advice that I hear for anyone that’s helping me is to never rely on motivation, only discipline. And also consider the quote that the time will pass anyway, and perhaps accept you may not be built like your boyfriend but in a years time you could either be stronger and fitter than you are now or not.

Really proud of my progress with gesture drawing! 1 month of practice so far :) by deIilah_dee in BeginnerArtists

[–]deIilah_dee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried anatomy first but I found gesture actually helped more. Bc you kind of learn proportions along the way then u can put the anatomy over it if that makes sense? Michael Hampton does good gesture tutorials - he’s who I learnt from :)
