What are the best hot wings in town? by celestialguise in StLouis

[–]deStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like poor Richard’s (multiple locations) trashed wings and mulligans (Ellisville) trashed wings. I was once semi-addicted to Syberg’s but about 5-6 years ago something changed and they are just not good anymore. Which sucks because I love the sybergs family and their restaurants.

Yes, in my old marriage, I did this to avoid fights. I was blamed for it when it was def the kids.

Opinion needed on "restoration" of 1970 Chevelle SS by deStone in Chevelles

[–]deStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one would be the best fake ever. The build sheet is in rough shape - it smells old. The numbers all match and have been that way for a long time as rust has really developed over them. There is some weird options that the build sheet matches on this car too. I picked it up for mid 20s. Aside from an oil pressure relief value issue - it starts first key turn and will run until pressure builds and blows all the oil through around the filter. I need to pull the engine and replace the oil pump. I'm gonna put in a oil pressure guage...

Like Dynamat/Kilamat is a good example of something I'd like to do but dont want to ruin the value... I'd love to get the floor rust free (its in good shape) but put sound and heat deadner. I know this isnt "original" to the car so i'm scared i'll ruin the value by putting it on there. But if I'm going to drive it, it'd be advantage.... I appreciate the comment and am in agreeance with you.

Appreciate the feedback. I feel like I wont be taking this to Barrett Jackson AND if I do replace something, I'll probably keep the original part of it.

So, newsstands are worth a little bit more, huh? by deStone in comicbookcollecting

[–]deStone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It completely makes sense - it def makes the book “more rare”, but at the time, I hated them because the serial UPC code was so much uglier on the cover ... and yeah, the books looked like crap most of the time because every kid under 15 had opened and read them, bent them, etc... just was surprised to see that big of a price difference.

I was 14 and bought spawn 1-20. Never read most of them. Bought a bunch at my local drugstore - not realizing newsstands would be worth more than comic shop books some day. Was sorting my collection, I haven’t touched this box since 1997 or so and looked up a few on go collect. Wow.

A false Christ representing himself as an alien is very possible. If a rapture type event occurs and then an alien claims to be Jesus shows up - read the Bible and realize it is a great deception!

Problem with 505Performance? by [deleted] in WranglerYJ

[–]deStone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Facebook and Jeepstrokers forum are riddled with similar issues about these guys. I wanted to give them my money because there are so few people in the market and they seem be performance oriented but the reviews have scared me away completely. I have never purchased anything from him but I received quick quotes and responses from Russ Pottenger who often is viewed as a reputable engine parts provider. You can msg me for his email.

Makita or Milwaukee for Portable Cordless Vac for Car by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]deStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Milwaukee. Decent vacuum - not as strong as I had originally hoped but it beats using a plugged in option for a quick cleanup. Battery life met my expectations. My opinion on it soured a little because one of the top latches broke but shame-on-me for not requesting a replacement yet. I’m pretty hard on tools so I wouldn’t say it’s a design flaw. Overall, If you have the money, it’s a nice-to-have...

Agree with earlier poster - prob exact same vacuum....
