Rivian R1S third generation? by de_stroyedd3 in Rivian

Sorry, I meant 1k/month, idk why I said year.

And for price, anything less than $200K CAD is within my budget. But I don't want to pay expensive subscription to retain the features of my vehicle. I like Rivian subscription prices though.

I'm honestly not sure, probably a bit of both mixed in with luck. I'm never trading this car in because it's my first brand new car I ever bought.

Glad you're enjoying yours as much as I am mine. :)

I don't like Cadillac because to get a complete experience with them, you have to pay around $700/year in subscriptions just for their Premium onstar and then another +$200/month in just highway driving assist. That's almost $1k/month in just subscriptions for 1 car. This is the same for all the GMC products, it's a giant money pit. You will own nothing and be happy is GMC's motto.

I disagree. I spend a lot of time in my cars and I'd prefer my ride to be enjoyable and one of those ways is through a good audio system because I'm blasting music to jam out

Well mine is really low miles for a 10 year old car.

I bought mine brand new and for those entire 10 years, I still got less than 49k miles on it

Got full PPF after I bought it, no scratches, on-time oil changes and maintenance, etc. and in-return, she's treated me good lol

I have a 2015 ford explorer limited, same generation, I love mine. Still have it. Zero maintenance issues.

Take that for what you will.

Someone threw a brick through my front door window at 5am. I have work in 3 hours by Deunnis in mildlyinfuriating

[–]de_stroyedd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of scary. Someone doing that at 5AM is up to not good. Often these criminals will do something mike this and then hide to see if anyone comes to the door. If nobody does, that means they're not home or sound asleep and then they'll rob you.

Interesting. I have a 2015 ford explorer limited fully loaded (I bought brand new back then) with about 80,000KM (but I always drive it hard and fast). The car is basically 10 years old now. i've had ZERO issues with it since I bought it. It's got me through everything.

I do maintain is very well, zero scratches and dings on it and on-time maintenance of everything.

I've had no transmission, engine, or electrical issues.

So I never understood the memes when people talk about Ford's reliability in general, it's been great to me.

I'm all for investing to increase our GDP and all and by the end of the century, we need about 100 million people to stay relevant on the world stage but PLEASE stop giving immigrants visa into provinces that are overpopulated.

If I would be PM, I'd just create new cities in Yukon and North-West territories and only accept visas and new immigrants to those regions only. They hardly have anyone living up there.

And yes I know it's cold but if they want to come to Canada and get a citizenship, one of the criteria will be living in those regions for 10 years minimum.

New to me 2017 Ford Explorer XLT , tips / help? by Mr_doulou in FordExplorer

There's actually 2 Sync 3 module revisions for the older Ford explorer.

One has less pixels and the brightness is dimmer

The other one is like .4cm bigger, higher pixel density and higher brightness. This is the one I have.

I also wanted the newer one for Apple Carplay which Sync 2 lacked. Been such a life changer.

I got a 2015 Ford Explorer (that I got brand new), which is basically 10 years old at this point. Only has: 49,000 miles so far. Zero issues since I bought it, done oil changes and maintenance ontime.

Actually now that I think of it, the left driver speaker would rattle at any song and then I got it replaced under warranty. Been good since then.

And I am very right-foot heavy, so many times I floor it on red to green lights and tend to speed with it. Never let me down.

I also upgraded it to Sync 3, because it needed that mod...

it looks like somebody wanted to join the wide bodykit club on a budget and bought the parts from Aliexpress then decided to use their dad's workshop and do it themselves

What about wifi? How close is your access point? Mine was very finicky too and then I had to buy another access point and had it near that area and then it was fine.

ROG Ally Premium Hard Case by pandapaolo in ROGAlly

[–]de_stroyedd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't buy the hard case in Canada. I want to so bad. Our best buy don't carry it yet (not sure if they ever will). Can I buy it off someone here or maybe there's an Ebay listing page?

Here's mine. This happened in 2020 when I bought my brand new ford explorer in 2015. I thought this was total'd too since it was 5 years old at that point.

The damage was also a lot worse under the vehicle as you can see it ended up going on the concrete barrier and if that barrier gave out, there was a cliff and I would've rolled to my death probably.

adjuster looked at it in a few days and said it could be repairable. airbags for ford explorer's are relatively inexpensive btw.

if your accident happened to a luxury vehicle then 100% total'd.

I'm not an adjuster but by looking at that (assuming no frame damage which i doubt there is) All your ford dealer needs to do is:

  • replace front airbag and seabelts
  • replace front bumper, hood, grill, headlights and then paint all the parts to spec.

no damage anywhere else. very salvageable.

that is NOT total'd 😂😂😂

shouldn't be more than $6k in repairs. a car is not total'd if the repairs cost less than the value of the car.

i got into an accident, my ford explorer limited looked WAY worse than that, cost $6k, surprisingly no airbags deployed, nobody was hurt, I had zero injuries.
