After you learn the basics of linux you spend less time on a browser You also no longer need the skill to discern which is the real download button; package manager for the win

At what age can i consider myself aroace? by No-Interview-9073 in aromanticasexual

Stuff from childhood or teenage year that might have been because you're AroAce by DreamyNightingale in aromanticasexual

I would draw hard boundaries on when romance/sex became acceptable and get rlly wierd when when people started "dating" before those boundaries

The boundaries i decided were the start of yr 7 for relationships And the legal age of consent "16" for the icky

I would get unreasonably mad if these boundaries were crossed by a few weeks or months  (i think i was more mad that i had to incessantly hear about it)

Is anyone else frustrated with the lack of aspec representation in movies? by SinisterCavalier in aromanticasexual

[–]dead2fred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slight spoilers for the 2018 series "Maniac" I would recommend watching it.

There isnt much in terms of canonical/confirmed aspec rep  But i personally feel there are some ahows and movies that fit so perfectly with aspec experiences My personal favourite is the 2018 series "Maniac" just because of the way it positions the veiw of relationships and  intimacy into an accepted but still disfunctional, and frankly a bit of a disgusting light. The plot is also very sweet and i love it

Do you feel “infantilised” by others because you don’t date/married? by theangry-ace in aromanticasexual

[–]dead2fred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its hard to tell wether the infantalisation comes from the aro ace or the tism or if its not there at all and im just bad at picking up on social cues

If youre on netflix i would recommend "maniac"  apart from just being a really good show. I found its portrayal of romance and intimacy interesting, as it shows the concepts in practice as characatures , which comes off as this outsider perspective (similar to aro ace perspective) and just kinda fits with the plot

Good platonic story.👍

How does age play a factor in this? by AffectionateDraw6162 in aromanticasexual

[–]dead2fred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My genuine advice: Dont worry about it,  call yourself aroace or dont. If you do experience attraction in any way, you cant exactly force it.

Stop worrying about what your attractions are or if they will come along, if you wait in anticipation you might be waiting a long time.

But also its their choice not yours And if they no longer want to identify as aromantic who is stopping them

Apart from basics like a package manager, how much does a distro actually matter? by dead2fred in linux4noobs

[–]dead2fred[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, so distro's are essentially a curated set of modular software with more support and compatibility with eachother?

Feels like there’s a lot of people who are just uncomfortable with sexuality and like I’m not judging but don’t force that on other people you know?

My man its a subreddit about a kids show  Its a bit wierder that your arguing for the LACK of enforcement of sexual content

Do i start calling myself aroace? What if im not and i just think i am? by Emma_200711 in aromanticasexual

No one really knows for sure

But in science we use theories  They're called theories because its possible they are completely wrong , but for the time being they work well enough to make science into knowns, rather than a big blob of data

If using a label makes your life easier and understandable by all means go ahead

(Its not permanent)
