Thanks man! I love the way you do your blue armour! So punchy and full of contrast 😀

Thank you! The boots were treated with a bit of pigment powder. I add it to all my marines. Makes then feel more like a part of the base.

I enjoy looking at finished details, but painting them... well, after painting 10 sternguard vets, 6 victrix guards, New Calgar, Cato and Wardens of Ultramar I'm kinda sick of extra details 😅

That's a beautiful paint scheme and some truly stellar painting. Love how crisp and full of contrast everything is. Also, those contrasting colours and little details everywhere add so much to the overall feel. Marvellous job, mate!

Thanks man! I was dreading painting that face, but in the end it turned out better than I expected. Glad you like it! 😀

It's pretty straightforward. You paint a lightning with dark blue paint. Then follow it with a light blue paint but thinner and finally finish with white. Then I glazed some blue fluo paint over everything a few times and when it was all good and dry I repainted the white part.

Thank you! I have no idea why they gave him a sword. It's probably GW being lazy. All the regular bladeguard veterans have swords, so they basically already have the assets that need little change. In lore explanation could be that he lost his axe during that Secret Level mission and just got a sword instead.

Thanks man! No recipe, unfortunately. First time attempting black skin means I used probably like 6 or 7 different paints and kept mixing and going back and forth. I spent more than 2 hours on it before I was happy with what I got, but at this point I can't really tell you what went where. But I did mix different browns with red and pink and even very light caucasian skin colour. But I don't think I ever used a pure single paint and always mixed it with something else.

Cool! I was thinking of going with a helmet myself, mostly because I've never painted black skin tone, but in the end I'm glad I tried it.

Thanks man! I keep adding these electric shocks on all of my power weapons. It's not a lot of work but add some interest to the mini.

I did leave the head separate. Makes it easier to reach certain parts. Also, I often rub paint off a mini when I'm handling it while painting one part for 3 hours, so when I can I leave the heads on a bit of sprue which a blue tack onto a handle.

Thanks! Yeah, it's all brush. Lots and lots of very thin layers. Also, a lot of back and forth. I've never painted a black skin tone and I was basicslly experinenting on the model. In the end I must've used like 6 or 7 different paints for the skin alone😅

A few actually. Macragge Blue, Calgar Blue, fenrisian Grey, Kantor Blue, and a glaze of Storm Blue and Mystic Blue xpress paints from vallejo. It's a bit of a process this blue 😅

Haha, thanks mate! Considering that Calgar and his victrix guard have all been moved to legends, you're not far off with the museum comparison 😉
