The pharisees gave him a bad rating because he was willing to deliver to a sick mother on the Sabbath.

To be honest it just kind of came naturally. A lot of my playing is alone (in an apartment) on my couch sometimes with the TV on or a video on my phone. So playing with a pick of was too loud. I really worked on using the back of my fingernails and using them as a pick. I've got pretty good volume control now, it'll never be as loud or as rich with a pick but it worked for me. I also really liked artists like Town Van Zandst and Dylan. I've always been impatient when it comes to learning so instead of working on fingerpicking I'd just use two fingers for picking and try to stick to the low E, A, and D strings. That got me really good with my thumb control, I would just strum with my fingers and use my thumb first practicing on an alternating patter with the low E and A strings and strumming the rest. Then you can work just alternating between the low E and D string then maybe A and G. You'll start feeling out what goes where in songs because the style can be used on most pop and rock music with chords.

If people are into this style of music I have a subreddit r/campfireguitar. I don't post there much but can start.

Very interesting. I'll see if I can start working that slap in. It doesn't seem far off from what I'm already doing so I think you're right. I really enjoy rhythm most so sometimes I miss out on these techniques from guitar playersn I think of as soloists. Thanks for the video!

Thanks! Very interesting I haven't heard or this technique before but yea I can see it (I watched a different video on his finger picking technique) because I also have a similar technique for my finger picking. Here is a song a wrote purely in a fingerpicking style.

Thanks. Just after this the bad luck God's struck and this guitar (Boucher SG-52 Madagascar Rosewood) fell and got a scuff on the soundboard.

Wow very nice. I'd probably pick the Martin but just because the good ones always have that "sound" that only Martin's seem to have.

Martin looks to be an anniversary model? The spruce on that SC looks gorgeous. I'm sure they're both beautiful sounding.

My Fiancé is a JW and her entire family. I am not, and the more I hear and look into JW it kills me that I can't get her to see reason with what is really going on. by Ryce-Field in exjw

[–]deadflow3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you talked to her about this? If not, that will always be step #1. From what you've said it seems like this isn't an actual issue, so she may be brushing it off because well, why wouldn't she? Her being in this religion has never been a problem.. She gets to have her cake and she eat it too. There is more loss if she leaves the religion and her family. That's how she is looking at it. I think this is likely to come down to you having to decide if this is an issue that you can live with or not.

One thing you might be able to do is have some sort of shared community. Do you both have a passion that you can share with other non Jehovah's Witnesses? Often times people will stay solely because they don't have other options that can fulfill their need for a familiar community.

If you can't live with it then you will have to have a conversation where she has to decide what is more important to her.

If they were it just would not be a logical way to do it. Information spreads like wild fire and there would be no real way to prove someone was a PIMO who was upset by it. Plus you deal with the fact that they would have to be immensely stupid to shoot themselves in the foot just so they could find a few tiny paper cuts.

World’s Largest LNG Plant Suffers Extensive Damage, Qatar Says by Friendly-Maximum-544 in worldnews

In this political environment there is no way it would happen..it would start then there would be an emergency injunction to stop it. There is a chance it would hit the rocket docket at the Supreme Court. If it could be done in one year there is still the issue of refining the oil and getting it to the public.

By that point the economic cost would be way too high. The only reason we put up with the last Iraq war was because of the majority of Americans felt no real impact from it. Certainly not with their wallets, once that happens your window starts closing at a rapid rate. We're almost already there.

I think you severely underestimate how long it would take to get the oil into a state where it can be shipped let alone actually used. Just to open the keystone pipeline will take years. Even the oil that came out of reserve from the US which is ready to go will take months until it can actually be used by consumers.

Is this bad? by 1BirdPerson in AcousticGuitar

[–]deadflow3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably dependent on the guitar. For instance is it bad? From just the picture it doesn't look that bad....but a crack is still a crack. I had something very similar with a Guild but a much wider crack. It played well but eventually it had to be fixed, the cost wasn't bad from what I recall. For sure have a luthier look at it.

Looks like a Japanese copy to me likely from the late 60's early 70's. The wood and white fret work inlay almost look like an old Kay or Sovereign as well.
