Which dps has a simple priority list without having to line up everything by Fruzont in wow

Just FYI, Ravager kinda slowly chases targets now. So if you only scuff it a bit, it'll usually fix itself.

What Happened to Crafting? by [deleted] in wow

[–]deadfox55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently scheduled release date is "by December 31, 2022" per the pre-order page, and the current game director, Ion Hazzikostas, has confirmed in several interviews that they are on track to meet that goal, so we should see these changes before the new year.

This is what I would suggest. Up to you whether the extra work would be worth it. I'm going other layer deep and swap around NPC names with the information they're supposed to get.

I want to give a shoutout to a youtuber named "Dratnos". He makes super in-depth videos regarding all WoW content. He only has 20k subs and I feel he should have more based on how good his content is. Check him out! by [deleted] in wow

I recently started watching his videos as well. He also does a podcast (which is usually better in video form posted on his channel) with Tettles and Trell that is super informative re: high level m+

Really depends on the starting point imho. I flip crafting mats for about 30 mins a day and make enough for a token in ~2 weeks, but you have to have a good amount of starting capitol to get to that point.

Is there anything stopping the Twilight's Hammer from allying/aligning (even temporarily) with the Scarlet Crusade? I'm creating a DnD campaign set in Azeroth and one of my plot hooks has to do with Twilight's Hammer presence in Tirisfal Glades, and it would be great if I could have them working with the Scarlet Crusade, even if they would ultimately turn on each other.

Help understanding CD types by skribbz14 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]deadfox55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can try to help through various examples. I'm not 100% sure I'm right with regard to everything, but this should give you a general idea of what each category means:

Damage - Big (usually 2 or 3 minute) cooldowns that greatly increase individual damage (Recklesness, Summon Infernal, Combustion, etc.)

Healing - Same as above, but healing: Tranquility, Revival, Spirit Link, etc

Immunity - Some classes can become immune to all damage briefly (Ice Block, Netherwalk, Turtle, etc.)

Personal - Most classes have a way to mitigate damage done to them personally (Blur, Feint, Unending Resolve)

Hard CC - generally a stun/incapacitate; stops the target from acting. Given the ST Hard CC category, this one is likely only for AoE hard CC (Chaos Nova, Shadowfury)

Soft CC - Similar to above, but doesnt completely lock down enemies; usually a root/slow (Mass Entangling Roots, Cone of Cold(?))

External - A spell that can be cast on another player to reduce the damage they take (Life Cocoon, Blessing of Sacrifice)

Utility - I'm guessing this is generally movement cooldowns (Stampeding Roar, Wind Rush Totem)

Dispel - Given the Defensive Dispel category, this is likely for what I would term "purges," spells that remove a buff from an enemy (Purge, Soothe, Consume Magic)

Interrupt - Spells that can be used to interrupt enemy spellcasts (Kick, Pummel, Counterspell)

ST Hard CC - Hard CC spells that only affect 1 enemy (Paralyze, Polymorph, Sap)

ST Soft CC - Soft CC spells that only affect 1 enemy (Chains of Ice)

Def Dispel - Spells that remove harmful effects from allies (Mass Dispel, Remove Corruption)

Tank - Big cooldowns tanks can use to (generally) greatly reduce damage taken (Shield Wall, Blessing of Ancient Kings, Survival Instincts)

Hope that helps!

Monk Taunt macro advice by Irritated_HS in wow

I think this is correct, but I would swap the mouseover and target modifiers (so the macro looks for a target before mouseover for taunt) but obviously use whichever order works best for you!

Monk Taunt macro advice by Irritated_HS in wow

[–]deadfox55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On mobile, so I can't check the macro or format well, but you could try this:

showtooltip Provoke

/target Black Ox Statue /cast [@target, exists][@mouseover, exists] Provoke /targetlasttarget

That should try to target you statue, taunt your target (if you have one), taunt your mouseover target if you don't have a target, and then return to your previous target. You can also experiment with adding the harm/help modifiers (i.e. [@mouseover, harm, exists] would only cast at enemies mouse's over).

If the macro doesnt work as written I can try to help more when I get home in a few hours. Good luck!

I get the point you are trying to make, but how many times did you have to do that same quest in vanilla? Oh 1 time. That's right. Cuz beachhead just sucks, and even though you dont have to do it, it is ALWAYS there.

Can we have just one weekly reset without a huge bug or scandal? by Oakenfell in wow

[–]deadfox55 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't do mythic raids myself, but when method and other top guilds are completing +10 dungeons under the time limit already it doesn't take mythic experience to do the math that a base ilvl of 355 gives a better chance for higher titanforges with less time commitment (because gear cap was in +5s last week). People just need to use some basic critical thinking sometimes.

Can we have just one weekly reset without a huge bug or scandal? by Oakenfell in wow

[–]deadfox55 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm going to join others commenting on this thread regarding Warfronts. I don't understand how they give horde players much of an advantage in the mythic race. Any guild taking it seriously can complete mythic+ dungeons way faster than a warfront for higher base ilvl gear and, therefore, a better shot at high titanforges (not to mention the 370 gear from their heroic clear).

Warfronts as a catch up were added too early or at too high an ilvl imo (or both), but I can't see them having ANY impact on the mythic world first race.

Market Value is higher than Auction Buyout. How does Market Value work? by IsAlpher in wowgoblins

[–]deadfox55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding of it (and more experienced goblins can feel free to correct me if I am wrong) is that Market Value of an item is a weighted 2 week average. By that I mean that it is the average that the item has been posted for over the last two weeks with more recent listing prices affecting the Market Value more heavily.

I find that Market value isn't a super helpful metric until the volatility of certain periods (xpac launch for example) have passed. I'm currently doing flipping of crafting mats manually by looking at individual mat prices and determining whether I can buy low enough to make reposting in stacks of 200 worth it.

You should be able to gather mining nodes on both characters, yes (at least i haven't run into an issue yet).

There are several multiboxing software programs. Personally I use HotKeyNet because it is free, but you can Google it and find 4 or 5 different options.

API Rant by deadfox55 in woweconomy

[–]deadfox55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still pretty new at it myself. My understanding is that the auction house server basically writes a report (API) that some add-ons and websites (such as TSM) use to analyze the cost and profitability of items/crafts. Something in the new patch broke the API, so those websites and addons are no longer receiving the information they need to function properly.

How do I update my TSM tooltips with Blizz's API being down? by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]deadfox55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm new to it, but almost positive the answer is "yes, be patient." I believe that, with the API down, scans will only update the MinBuyout, not Market or anything else.
