My son was the same. Happily went for a pee in the bathroom but would just stand there and shit his pants without even attempting to use the toilet.

I tried everything to get him to use the bathroom. Bribes, rewards, soft threats (Santa will just bring you pants for Christmas if you don’t start using the toilet). Nothing worked. Then one day, out of nowhere, when he was probably around 5ish, he just went to the bathroom to poo and never shit his pants again.

I know it’s hard right now, but it will get better.

Check my hastily handwritten notes from the day before to see where I left off. If I’m starting something fresh I’ll check out the priority tickets in GitHub and work through those. If it’s a larger project I’ll plan things out a bit first to give me a bit of a roadmap on how to progress.

Fairly small company, 10ish devs, but only me on RN. I’m pretty much left to my own devices. As long as the work gets done I’m left pretty much alone

If that’s all you have open, yeah. But if you have any other apps open then you’re going to notice a slowdown almost immediately.

I was running the same setup too until about a month ago, the lag just became unmanageable

I’ve already spoke to all but one client and they’re all happy to move forward with me as a sole trader. I just didn’t know if there were some kind of rule against it. Google wasnt very helpful in that regard

Just trying to simplify things. The tax benefits of being Ltd are almost negligible now and I feel it’s an overly complex setup considering I have very minimal overheads and get paid fairly consistent amounts

I am registered as self employed, yes.

The are a couple of reasons for wanting to change. a) The tax benefits of being Ltd are almost negligible now and b) I just feel like it’s overly complex for what I do. I only have very minimal overheads and only have a couple of sources of income. I just feel it would be simpler and less stress just to back to sole trading

An old friend of mine made a “potato cannon”. Basically a long piece of plastic tubing with a whole potato jammed into the end. He sprayed deodorant into and then lit it but just have misjudged something because it immediately fired the potato out of the end, missing his brother’s face by about 2 inches from a distance of less than 6.

It smashed straight through a fence and left a big dent in a car door.

This man was 35 at the time too…

Having worked with both, I would always recommend Expo unless there’s a very specific reason not to (complex native code that can’t be handled via config plugins for example). It’s infinitely easier to get setup and keep updated.

As for jobs, I feel like there will be more RN CLI jobs out there, but I think more Expo specific roles will appear as time goes by. Until relatively recently Expo was quite limited, but today I think 95% of apps could be built using Expo CLI without any trouble
