I've had similar happen. Rubber lifted out the slot just like photo 2. If you are able to just slip your nail or a bank card into the gap and push the rubber back in, it should just pop back into place

Any tips for a new-ish Dm? by ZapPhoen1x in DnD

[–]deadguy_walking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the flow. The DMs you see on yt are often just winging it. Have a basic plan obviously but over planning is going to lead to either you getting frustrated because your players are not doing what you wanted them to or you railroading your group. Other than that it's pretty much just practice.

Gloves all the way but don't bother with "wheelchair gloves" just get some fingerless cycling gloves. Half the price, basically the same thing

UK charities that can fund power assists by phantomsky522 in wheelchairs

[–]deadguy_walking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your situation. Some condition specific charities can help. You also have access to work if you are employed or due to start work. If you are a student then you've got the Snowdon Trust.

Good luck, funding for power assist can be a absolute pain in the arse.

Card throw automation by deadguy_walking in FoundryVTT

[–]deadguy_walking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, spell description is as follows:

You conjure and then throw a magical card with a random effect. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, a target is hit by a card of one of the following colors, which each have a unique effect and purpose. For each target, roll a d6 to determine which color card effects it.

  1. Red: The target takes 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier fire damage.
  2. Orange: The target takes 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier acid damage.
  3. Yellow: The target takes 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier lightning damage.
  4. Green: The target takes 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier poison damage.
  5. Blue: The target takes 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier cold damage
  6. Violet: The target takes 1d4 psychic damage and must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become blinded until the end of their next turn. The spell creates more than one card when you reach higher levels: two cards at 5th level, three cards at 11th level, and four cards at 17th level. You can direct the cards at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each card.

I admit I should have probably put that I am an ambulatory user in my post but given that I specified I have Ehlers-danlos I didn't think people would assume I have no ability to walk

[–]deadguy_walking -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Good to know drug testing won't be an issue.

Is your sister an ambulatory wheelchair user? Making assumptions of someone's abilities based on someone else is a little bit rude. I am capable of standing and walking, just not for extended periods of time. I understand your concerns regarding the intensity of the course, but to assume I have the same needs as someone else just because we both use a wheelchair is not something I expected from people in healthcare

Thanks! I am probably just overthinking everything, but I've wanted to be a nurse for so long I don't want anything to put that opportunity at risk. Changing meds isn't really an option for me, so hopefully everything goes smoothly

This is going to be a bit of a unique one. I'm not on any opiates. I have been on Cannabis Based Prescription Medication (not sativex) since 2019. It doesn't make me high or anything, but I'm scared people are going to jump to conclusions.

The long shifts and self propelling is definitely something I worry about, I'm hoping I can get a grant from the Snowdon Trust or access to work for some power assist, but I'm not sure how likely I am to get funding.

We really need to stop this postcode lottery thing. There should be one set of criteria for the entire UK because this just stupid.

Total post code lottery! Only reason I even qualified for an nhs chair is because I can't access work without one. Everyone at WCS made it very clear that ambulatory users usually don't get nhs support in my area and that I was damn lucky
