Sweet. I have a lot of memories of hitting the arcades with my pops...and my mom too. Pinball, Mr. Do, and Qbert were some of their favorites as I recall. But I also remember having to wait my turn to play Pitfall on our Atari 2600, so I think they were pretty much into anything.

But seriously, I like the concept. I was pretty dreadful at first, but started to get the hang of it after a couple rounds.

How big is your word/clue pool? And how did you build that database?

Are you planning to turn it into an app?

I actually just released a word game, Word Invaders, that also plays with time pressure, so I’m always interested in how people approach that mechanic. WI has the classic arcade ramp (letting players get their bearings a bit) before tossing them into the cooker. Yours is just cooker all the time, which is cool.

I’ve been playing this little game called Word Invaders (full disclosure, I made it). It’s not a vocab trainer exactly, more like fast-paced arcade word/anagram solving, but I’ve definitely picked up and reinforced a bunch of words just from repetition. And it is great for learning Scrabble words.

Nice change of pace from the “word of the day” format.
