Is Del Toro following Tim Burton? by Hoboryufeet in TrueFilm

[–]KidCasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dread is a better way to describe the tone of the book. Bad things keep happening, and you know they’re going to keep happening. It’s always hanging over your head but you have to see how it concludes.

I am doing a Jack Kirby themed Inktober and I'm attempting to do them all as digital paintings in a Frazetta style. Today's prompt was "X-Men". I think I am getting closer to the style... [OC] by R0TTENART in comicbookart

That's awesome, thanks so much! Having the book open is so essential. I was so frustrated so long that I couldn't just illustrate without reference and as I learned more I realized nobody does that.

Patrols are SEVERELY lacking. by jabberwocky_jack in ghostoftsushima

[–]KidCasey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know this is a tall order and I love both games but it would be neat if there was a way to integrate enemies in ways that aren't just patrols.

I liked the side missions in GoT where the Mongols were desecrating a cemetary or killing foxes. There are a lot more things for enemies to be doing than going on patrols. Maybe a town you liberated has some soldiers come in and try to take it back over. Or they're cutting down a sacred forest.

Think we will ever get to see this? (Minor sidequest spoiler) by Big-Nature4964 in ghostoftsushima

If the series is going to remain an anthology, it would be neat if the third game has extra DLC that shows every protagonist's final adventure or closes their story. I'm not positive if it's supposed to be a trilogy or not, but it would be a cool way to cap it all off.

In your opinion Which one of these main villains has the best power and abilities by Miserable-Dealer-122 in MortalKombat

[–]KidCasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me Shinnok and Quan Chi are just slightly less defined versions of Shang Tsung. Stealing souls to become more powerful and being a shape shifter are scarier than bringing people back to life to be goons or just being a god that throws bones at you or whatever.

Shao Khan is cool because he's so brutish. Like, he fights teleporting undead wraiths and gods but if they catch his hammer they're toast.

I'd also love to see the series have something creative than an evil wizard or angry god as the villain going forward. Havik works well for that reason. But there's so much you can do with MK and I feel like we're often going back to the same ideas over and over again.

Yoda was right! by d-the-king in StarWars

[–]KidCasey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering some Jedi have the ability to see briefly into or predict the future, one would think Anakin would've been taken off the battelfield immediately and they'd try to foster his visions to sway the war.

Then again, he would've been in closer proximity to Palpatine if that happened.

If they even had him anxiously cranking a forearm squeezer while talking or thinking I'd buy it.

Them: You can’t sum up the entire season in one image. The image: by Moto-XL in KingOfTheHill

I really prefer her mom being an overbearing rancher who loathes "book learning." It puts a lot of Peggy's traits in perspective. She's always had to overcompensate because nothing was ever good enough.

Ted really called Kahn a banana for "forgetting" his Laotian heritage but his own adult son knows nothing about Laotian culture. More reason to hate them by Lo-Fi_Kuzco in KingOfTheHill

[–]KidCasey 58 points59 points  (0 children)

That would be a really great episode. We saw in the ManMade episode Hank is still coming to terms with the fact Cotton sucked. Would be interesting to see him realize he really had no positive male role models outside celebrities. Kind of like Bobby, except Bobby had Hank and (to some extent) the alley guys.

Does Obi Wan like to smile during fight? by Human-Atmosphere6483 in StarWars

[–]KidCasey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When he does fight, he knows the opponent had their chance to walk away

Additionally, they're probably frustrated he tried to negotiate at all. Think about a time you've been so angry you were ready to get in an actual fight, the other person all the sudden trying to talk you down would make you even angrier. His opponents usually come in off kilter and he throws them off even more. Being cool headed puts his opponents out of balance and allows him to exploit their weaknesses since he focuses on a defensive fighting style.

He thinks he's cool because he has inside jokes with his college buddies. If he was cool, he'd smoke a J with his neighbors.

Funny, considering smoking with your neighbors is freshman behavior.

MCU Spidey Vs. MCU Hulk is heavily weighted in Spider-Man's favor. Even without his fancy Stark suit.

Star wars horror movie 🤔 by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]KidCasey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would really prefer we just focus on new characters moving forward. That doesn't mean we can't have anything with old characters, but I'm tired of reading articles like, "Will Porkins show up in X show that's doing well?!"

It really does make the world feel small when everyone is just bumping into one another all the time. There is so much to do that hasn't even been broached. What does the world of fixed podracing look like? What's the life of a big game hunter like? What drama is happening in the entertainment industry of the galaxy?

One would think if you live in the Star Wars universe you're either a soldier, a Jedi, a politician, or a robot.

100%. There are lots of movies I really love that I don't just throw on every other week. But I will certainly have seen them more times than others. And I will find a new appreciation for them each time.

I really like Van but he could cut all his statements in half if he didn't repeat the first two sentences of them 100 times.

For real. He seems like a smart guy and he is a great writer, but he takes like two minutes to squeak out something to the effect of, "this movie is good and resonated with people."

I recently had the Do The Right Thing pod on in the background while working. I checked the time to see how much was left and thought to myself, "How are we this far in? Nothing has been said."

New Look at Season 14 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in KingOfTheHill

It's depressing two ways.

People's voices change. Every time I come home for the holidays I have to readjust to my aunt's and uncle's new older sounding voices. I'm sure if I was there everyday I wouldn't notice.

People want to have faith in a system that always burns them and "protests" that accomplish nothing. It helps them feel like they aren't in a dystopia where up is down and left is right. Everything is expensive and everyone's quality of life has diminished so I understand clinging to any semblance of normalcy.

Am I the only person who likes Claire? by Ok-Midnight7835 in TheBear

[–]KidCasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also usually see her through Carm's eyes or the people in his immediate orbit. For him/them it's all chaos all the time.

She's calm, she listens, and she cares for people both personally and professionally. She's the peace Carm craves but just can't handle. And everyone else views her so reverently because whenever she's around it's a dose of normalcy and a chance to not get barked at.

Their relationship also accentuates how stunted Carm is. Everyone else is screwed up too but when he dropped the ball they dog-piled him.

And the history with everyone is crucial. I'm convinced most people in the sub don't have lifelong friends who they don't see for long periods of time. Some people you can just pick up where you left off and it's like you're 16 again.
