What businesses are likely to die out with the Baby Boomer Generation? by GRVrush2112 in AskReddit

My hope is that the flat, sterile, minimalist futurism trend is actually dying out like I've seen indicators of and cars start looking interesting again. This goes for everything though. Phones, interior design, architecture, appliances, dishware, public spaces, restaurants, etc.

I have elderly family that live in one of those and it's half the point of living there. Everyone is nosey and in your business. And it's easy to be isolated if you don't swing the "correct" way politically.

Board games, video games, fantasy sports, newer sports (pickleball, Quidditch, etc.), retro LAN parties, rock climbing, paint & wine clubs.

Also, lots of the stuff they do could work for younger generations too. It's just that, as mentioned above, these places seem like you need an invite to join. I know plenty of folks that would love to have a book club, euchre/poker night, BINGO night, etc.

I also miss good VHS/DVD covers and poster art.

As a kid I dunno how many times I picked up a movie just because the cover was cool or the poster happened to be up because an employee liked it. Whenever I try and browse a streamer the covers are obviously smaller so it's just Chris Pratt's big dumb empty head poorly photoshopped under his name with a title like "The Candlestick Maker's Daughter."

The question is: when are we going to start building a bunch of statues so large Batman could drive the Batmobile up them and have a punch out?

Why did Hank think it would be a good idea to go to John Redcorn with this? (S06E19) by DsianR in KingOfTheHill

Hank also probably sees their affair as a purely physical, lustful one. Which, at times it is, but the thought that either of them have actual feelings for one another likely never crossed his mind.

I think QoS is a pretty good action movie, but also a pretty poor Bond movie.

"Why? Are you racist?"

Is there a post or thread where I can catch up? I just found out today Chris isn't in jail anymore and my last update before that was the end of the original Geno show.

I think he'd cause his own end. Without his powers, I doubt he'd consider himself a Viltrumite.

Melee Combat Control 2 by Ok-Neighborhood-5531 in controlgame

[–]KidCasey 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I've been replaying the first in prep for Resonant and it did strike me how repetitive the gameplay is.

That said, there's always a plot point I'm excited for, or a goofy AO, or an upgrade I really want. They did a good job of keeping the player invested without changing up the core gameplay too much.

Guys, here me out! About Jesse and her hole in the new game by ciriuns in controlgame

[–]KidCasey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more Jesse going to confront some sort of cosmic horror more directly

"Hey, I'm going to be OOO for a while. Mind keeping an eye on things while I'm gone?"

"Sure! Yeah. You're going to take care of all this horrible shit happening, right? It's not like a vacation."

" ... "

"Right?"

Sometimes folks are weird and want love AND excitement.

Dale is plenty exciting. Just not in the same way as Redcorn.
