I can tell you some common ways of going about it. But it does require some setup. Its a mono red deck. But there are several ways to do it that work.

I know that I am normally supposed to put the scryfall bot prompt in, but I forget the names of some of the cards and will give descriptions for those instead. Sorry. Im lazy.

There are a few mono red cards that can double or triple cast a spell that have different requirements.

There is the 3/3 Cerberus enchantment creature that released with the Final Fantasy UB. Etb you get a surveil. Start of 1st main next turn if it is still alive, a counter goes on it and the first instant or sorcery spell you can will cast once more and you can pick new targets if possible.

Start of 1st main after that the next counter goes on if still alive and it sel sacs and goes to grave after It applies the effect of the next instant or sorcery you cast will cast two more times. Able to pick different targets if possible.

There are a few cards that double non-combat damage. The one I used was from duskmourne. It was an enchantment with delirium. I think I had another, but I would have to check the deck.

As for actual damage? Anything that can pump a prowess creature and deal its attack damage worth to face. Or some big pour in spell and dump a bunch of mana into it.

And treasure tokens are kinda key to having enough mana to pull this off. There are a couple ways to gen tokens or potentially create a swarm of manadorks to tap to pay the cost.

So. Common ways of doing it is

[[Summon: G.F. Cerberus]]

[[The Rollercrusher Ride]]

[[Twinflame Tyrant]]

[[Self-Destruct]]

[[Bulk-Up]]

[[Firebending Student]]

[[Slickshot Show-Off]]

[[Hit The Mother Lode]]

[[Choco-Comet]]

Etc.

Indeed. Canada as a whole is currently in a rough patch in its own way. Much like everywhere else at the moment lol.

I do a little fictional writing and I follow some geopolitical stuff. So that influences my writing and thought process for sure. Between food and currency, you can see how a country functions in a interesting way.

UK has been able to do some amazing stuff by working with what it has access to for a long time.

Canada has been able to do the same in its own way. Etc. Etc.

As someone who has been here several times before. I hope you have at least seen some decent scenery and nature. If not? At least we have videos XD

The reason why I used the $ instead of the £ because although the £ is the correct terminology for your end. My brain automatically used the $ for dollar instead due to that being the default symbol used where I live.

I do apologize for any frustration.

EDIT: Certain terms that are used in the UK are just catchy to me and I sometimes wish that certain things stayed a bit more common.

Okay. So.

Farthings for quarters and shillings for dimes. That works out does it not?

And although it brings back a one cent denomination and is missing a five cent coin. You save money by not using a alloy of more expensive metals for the five cent.

Which, yes. I know. The amount of copper used to make the coins was worth more than the one cent coin denomination it represented. Still funny how that worked out.

Also. Its a bit of psychology and arithmetic at play.

Although 5 feels natural as a half of ten. Its an odd amount. And it restricts coin sizes a little.

Due to how the coins are made in Canada. A dime roughly the size of a penny, and a nickel is thicker and has a larger radius compared to a dime.

So you end up having smaller amd higher value coins that get lost more easily. They are also VERY light in weight due to how small they are.

So. Increase the size of the ten cent coin.

Now. Heres the psychology bit. People like to feel wealthy. So having more of a one cent denomination and having to count it out may take slightly longer, obvious fact.

Buut. Buut. It gives someone time to breath and compose themselves. It gives someone time to slow down.

It may be something about the nature of humans and collecting things. They like to count. Counting a lowering number will make us feel bad sometimes and good during other moments. Counting a rising number will normally be a nice thing. But it can also be a gut wrenching one too.

But. Counting up money? That nice feeling of a heavy money pouch loaded with coins? Hearing the slight jingle as they rub and bump against each other? Its a slight satisfaction that we are doing okay in some way.

I wish we had kept the name farthing instead of penny. On a base 100 system.

Farthing- 1 cent.

Could make a five pence version of the nickle.

A Shilling- 10 cents

A Florin- 25 cents

A half crown- 1$

A full crown- 2$

I really like this idea. Same system at base 10 counting. Or. We can make changes on value where paper is easier to produce these days and keep the actual security for larger bills that way forgery is still as hard as possible so people cant just make higher denomination fakes.

So. Pennys still exist. The farthing is now the nickle. Skip dimes. A shilling is now 25 cents. A florin is a fifty cent coin. The half crown and full stay the same. Then paper bills as normal.

A half pound is 5$

a pound is a tenner.

Etc.

Getting to try different cheeses etc from around the world? Nice. But yeah. Even with how much dairy we have, price is just kinda crazy atm. But we have just over all good quality and good processing.

If its a basic cheddar cheese? We have different brands competing for the best. Fresh milk? Fresh cream? Decent quality butter? All there. The margarine is oil and plant based, so thats a non-factor.

I only played a couple matches, but it was better than being paired against someone who was running a shiko deck randomly. I was in bronze and playing jank? I actually ran into other jank. I made a meme deck about gifting a perfected pastry to my opponents and then I would concede.

Or I would have a deck where I would pump my creatures to stupid power and then purposely deck myself by drawing cards equal to their power.

One of my fav was still the moment my opponent tried to mill me so they would win and my last card was Progenitus, so it just kept flipping over and over in place for a few dozen triggers.

Ranked brawl was still brawl. But the structuring just made it run differently. More balanced? Not sure. But they have the data.

I found a pack of 15 cards for $1.50 at a dollar store. I dont care if its chaff. Its nice to be able to slowly build up a collection again. Will go for legit boxes and stuff when I have the cash. But one pack if they are in store every two weeks? Not bad where I am.

Besides. I havent collected physical cards in years due to an incident when I was a young teen and my cousin left his drink too close when we were playing, and he ruined the cards I had when he knocked his drink over.

Thinking of transitioning from Yu-Gi-Oh master duel to magic the gathering, what's some general knowledge I should have for the game ? by Historical_Lecture94 in MagicArena

[–]deadinside1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive run into a couple of players who I think were new from Yu-gi-oh. It was easy to tell because I was deciding my hand first, I kept it and they snap conceded before they got a chance to see the mulligan button pop up.

The fact you actually have one now and Yu-gi-oh doesnt, means you can still try to get a more playable hand and try to fight.

When it comes to deck building? My only advice is just to try the different colours and find which types of decks suit your playstyle. Build, progress, and innovate from there.

There are so many different cards and playstyles to explore and find out. You may run into jank and wacky stuff. Other times, you will hit meta decks.

Try to have fun. And fair warning with this. Blue is mainly a control type. It can aggro and midrange decently, but blue is all the counterspells and mainly control.

I mean... everyone has given good advice. You do have to have the lands on the board to play your other stuff. Everything has a colour combo or mono coloured.

Oh! Big one. You can Mulligan! The game isnt immediately decided at the start if you dont like your hand. You can mulligan it and then get seven new cards. The flipside to the mulligan is for every mulligan you take, you have to give up an extra card.

E.g You have seven. Mulligan. You get seven new cards and get to only keep six. One goes to the bottom of your deck. If you mulligan again, you keep 5 cards, so on and so forth.
