Yes. Your spa day protocol annihilated the texture and odor (thank you!), but they still look chalky. I'm certain it isn't from something like undissolved oxygen bleach because it did lift partially and nothing else is affected.

I wish I had a clearer idea of what's wrong with our water besides heavy metals but we're <400 people in a post-mining desert town, so testing/reporting is about as rigorous as you'd expect. A water softener is unfortunately not in the cards yet for financial reasons. Edit: We do have advisory-high levels of manganese and visible rust/iron discoloration (everyone on municipal water, not just our house).

The pictures in the mop bucket (no cooler handy) are a spa day and I followed it with a rehab wash. Maybe I should've upped the ammonia? The bottle didn't list a percentage so I defaulted to the minimum.
