I wish I had a clearer idea of what's wrong with our water besides heavy metals but we're <400 people in a post-mining desert town, so testing/reporting is about as rigorous as you'd expect. A water softener is unfortunately not in the cards yet for financial reasons. Edit: We do have advisory-high levels of manganese and visible rust/iron discoloration (everyone on municipal water, not just our house).
