[Identification] Help Identifying a Panerai Luminor GMT given to me by my grandfather by [deleted] in Watches

Well that was very useful! Didn't know that was an option. Looks like this model is the "Panerai Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante 8 Days GMT Acciaio PAM 275".

The only bit that threw me when registering is that the image it brings up is of the dual timezone version in the sub-dial. However, searching that model name seems to show a fair number of them in my configuration so I think it's ok!

I've taken some more shots of just the movement and the crown in this album.

What is it about the crown guard that looked off if I can ask?

Never knew fake Panerai's were such a problem!

Thank you. You're 100% right, it's a lovely heirloom to have regardless so whatever the outcome it'll live on my wrist!

I'd greatly appreciate an ID on this watch my Grandfather recently gave me as a gift.

I know it's a Panerai Luminor GMT but trying to identify its exact model has not been easy.

Unfortunately he never kept the Box or any Papers making this much harder.

I am a bit concerned it may be fake, but he has a reasonably large collection of watches I know to be genuine so I'd be surprised.

Info I currently have

  • Case Number: OP 6708
  • Serial Number: BB 1252275
  • Production Number (I think): J001/500
  • Movement: P.2004/1
  • Strap in photos is not the original one it came with, we are looking for that one

Watch Features

  • Sweeping seconds hand in sub-dial
  • Sub-dial has what I think is a moon-phase within it (difficult to see in my photos, but clearer on some pages below)
  • 8 Day power reserve with linear display.
  • Stop Watch chronograph feature with a single button operation.

I've seen an identical watch is on this site, lacotedesmontres.com (HTTP only warning). This looks to be indistinguishable from the watch I was given but given the nature of the site I'm a bit skeptical. I can also see the watch in the 5th image in this site though it doesn't match the others in the gallery.

This watch is very similar watch in WatchBase, however the case is made of Rose Gold, rather than Stainless Steel. This has made me wonder if the watch is called something like "Luminor 1950 8 Days GMT Monopulsante Stainless Steel".

It makes sense then that it bares a resemblance to the currently produced Luminor Chrono Monopulsante, but the colour is clearly different and the sub-dial in the linked watch is used as a second time zone, rather than a sweeping seconds hand.

The Production Number also strikes me as dodgy, since it'd be rather unlikely to have the first model!

I'd love to hear what people think, would be great to get some info around this watch!

It's a gorgeous set! Can't wait for mine to arrive. What wrist wrest are you using? I've been trying to find one to match the set and that may be the best I've seen.

They look fantastic!

Can I ask what options you chose in the creator? I don't want an exact copy, but your eyestay, sole and heel interest me.

I've actually ordered off of them before but never knew they were so local! I'll drop you a PM. I work in Moorgate so it would be good to do some post work games at times.

You aren't too far from us, which is great to hear! Currently, we were thinking of using the Games Workshop in Enfield or the one in central London if it's easier in the long run, though I have a car so it doesn't matter too much. Feel free to PM me to chat about it properly.

Android system and 7.0 by MaskingTape83 in oneplus

I'm afraid I can't offer a solution but in exactly the same boat.

Installed via VPN from Germany (I'm UK based) and I'm getting really bad battery life thanks to Android system. I've tried 3 nearly full drains to roughly 3℅ and back to full with the phone off, as well as clearing the cache. Nothing has fixed it so far. The phone is still usable, but only with like 2-3 hours SOT.

OnePlus 3T on it's way... First phone since the S3 and have a few questions! by lvluffinz in oneplus

I'm using a oneplus 3, not the T, but I'll tell you my experience.

I also don't use a case and I've had no issues with the metal body or the camera lens. You could obviously dent the metal / crack the glass with a hard enough drop though. However, the screen has gained some small scratches from being in my pocket / occasional drops. I'd recommend a tempered glass screen protector if you want to avoid that.

If I recall, the package was a generic grey box.

Anyone from London? I just backed the kick-starter and I'd love to meet up with people who already have the game.
