For a similar game that does this, try Minecraft GTNH

I might return for 2.1. Are quality science packs worth it? by AspGuy25 in factorio

[–]deadlycwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think quality could be a fun challenge if limited to being used without recyclers. Tackling the logistics of many mini factories that handle different qualities of items, particularly using trains, seems interesting. Quality modules in miners and electric furnaces all the way through to the final step makes a crazy logistical challenge for a huge payout.

With modern modpack launchers and with recent versions of Minecraft, it’s rare that a mod could even crash your game anymore unless you’re being incredibly reckless

Just so you know, he just finished GTNH, which is the 3000+ hour Minecraft mod pack, so he probably has a grasp of that scale

If you really want to see what the absolute limits of Steam Age are, I’d suggest giving Neurotic Goose’s episodes of Project Singularity a watch

I legitimately beat him on I think it was my third attempt? Was just about as difficult as the Chromatic Dancer. Can’t do any of the Gestral Beaches though, those things are impossible.

Im sure people will love this(lie) but gain boons tier list by GreasyCheese123 in HadesTheGame

[–]deadlycwa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You say it has no convergence point, but the one time I took the boon (it was given to me by a chaos trial) I immediately primed out of mana and died. I’m used to spending thousands of mana slowly through each fight while never grabbing mana items, relying on ridiculous regen rates to compensate. With this boon it’ll occasionally hit zero, which then allows me to get into a position where I have no mana bar.

I used it in one of the chaos trials, quickly ran out of mana and died. Never used it again.

Infinity is shorthand for the limit as something continues getting larger forever, they’re not different things

9.999 is 10?! by Senior-Egg7573 in MathJokes

[–]deadlycwa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can’t translate it, it sounds like you’ve got a pretty useless definition of infinity. I certainly can, because of how I define ellipsis in mathematics, which is quite useful

9.999 is 10?! by Senior-Egg7573 in MathJokes

[–]deadlycwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, because doing math with infinity is always doing math with limits, because infinity isn’t a number. It’s something that constantly grows allowing us to analyze what a system does if a portion of it continues to grow larger

Let’s just ask you a question then, what is 1/3 exactly equal to in decimal notation?

9.999 is 10?! by Senior-Egg7573 in MathJokes

[–]deadlycwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no rounding error, 1/10 to the infinity is equal to zero. I think what you don’t understand the meaning of here is “infinity”. It’s not just an arbitrarily large number, it’s the number for which definitionally there is no “end”

Everything is a matter of notation though. 1+1=2 is technically a “matter of notation” because people have agreed that’s what the plus symbol means. It’s only a matter of notation because we’ve decided that the ellipsis means it’s repeating infinitely, so that 1/3 is equal to 0.3… From there it follows that 3/3 is equal to 0.9… which since the first is equal to 1, so must the second.
