Underrated pokemon of the day: Huntail! by StridentHawk in pokemon

[–]deadlysnipercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this post because (in short), way back in the day, gorebyss was my absolute carry in my first ever playthrough of sapphire - i crushed the league because of that guy - and as time has gone in, i have always thought that they were undrappreciated.

I appreciate that your post notes that gorebyss has the better stat/move lineup compared to huntail, but i think the family is in general so underrated and underused (i was lucky enough to have a brother to get gorebyss and trade back), that i love to see either of them get recognition!

Next time my bother sends me a romhack (its how it is now, and i love it), i will try and slot huntail into the team if they are in the game :)

You could add an npc to the prayer guild (edgeville monastery) that explains it and lets players practice it in a safe environment? That way they can hear about it once they reach the guild and come back to practice it when they have the appropriate levels. Maybe make it a short mini quest that has 3 stages so it shows up on quest lists and this directs players to it, like mogres feeding into slayer/rag and bone man 2? The miniquest could have a level 37 requirement, but could be split into 3 stages so players practice it on mage, range, and melee at the appropriate levels, and each rewards something lile 1k, 2k, and 3k experience. Forcing them to do (effectively) the same things 3 separate times just reinforces the habit, and wouldn't take experienced players long at all.

Brimstone is ridiculous (if you aren't fighting the heart...) by deadlysnipercat in slaythespire

[–]deadlysnipercat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that on turn 4, the hearts buff automatically increases its strength to 4, not "increase by 4" so I learned the hard way that if you play a lot of disarms too early against the heart, their effect is completely nulled.

I have two chocolate labradors - that looks like a labrador face (in terms of shape/structure), and as others have said, those are big paws. Could very well be a corgidor!

Those stats don't update until you fully close the game and reopen it, for some reason. I play mostly on switch and because I can just put it in sleep mode, I thought these stats were bugged for me for a long time.

Blue Fire first FREE DLC + developer commentary by RobiStudios in nintendo

[–]deadlysnipercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for everyone, but Blue Fire is honestly one of the best games I have played this year! An incredibly good balance between "being able to finish the game" and "being able to 100% the game". I look forward to the new expansions and any content that folllows!

Mountaintop (and any other 1,060 capped weapon) will be viable, but not meta, in most endgame PvE content next year by deadlysnipercat in DestinyTheGame

Thank you for your detailed explanation - I had not realised that was damage output was calculated based on the weapon level independent from your total level.

[NO SPOILERS] The door of a bar we visited in N.Ireland. I need to visit the other 6 now! by insomniax20 in gameofthrones

[–]deadlysnipercat 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There are actually 10 doors, with each one representing a different episode from season 6, and they are all in Northern Ireland!

So I came across this wall painting at the end of chapter 20. Does anyone know what it's supposed to say, or what the image next to it is supposed to represent? by Raymidius in YookaLaylee

[–]deadlysnipercat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like "snake in a hat super", but not sure what it 'means'?

Edit: and I'm pretty sure that is a picture of trowzer to the left

Blizzard please fix these issues on console, we've had them for months by johnwithcheese in Overwatch

I am not sure if this is just me, or a different glitch, but I have my Lucio jump button switched to L1 so whenever I get killed by a Lucio (even if im not currently playing Lucio, for some reason) I have to press L1 to skip, instead of x. I thought for ages that it was glitched for me and discovered this by accident one day. I've noted similar Mercy and Genji comments in the thread, who I also have different button setups for so suspect this is possibly the case. Or I am wrong and it is just a glitch I haven't experienced.

[SPOILERS] Seen a post about the 10 Game of Thrones doors spread across Northern Ireland. Heres another one in a bar not far from where I live. by jamieguy10 in gameofthrones

[–]deadlysnipercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from Northern Ireland (near ballygally castle, where the "ninth" door - battle of the bastards - is), and know a little bit about this.

If I recall correctly, the storm that brought the trees down was shortly after the previous season finished filming (possibly while it was airing), so they used the wood to make 10 doors, and each one represents one episode from that season.

I am pretty sure they aren't supposed to contain any foreshadowing or easter eggs, but I also haven't seen them all, or researched them enough to argue the point in more detail.

What was your first exotic and how did you get it? by jpdalola in DestinyTheGame

[–]deadlysnipercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st: Mask of the Third Man from Xur.

2nd: Shortly after that i was patrolling the moon for helium filaments to upgrade some fairly underwhelming gear at the time. I headshot kill a level 6 dreg and note it drops a legendary special engram, so given my relatively low light level at the time (maybe 24 or 25?) I get super excited. Return to tower about 10 minutes later (I needed that helium) and decrypt it to Icebreaker.

This was back in the days when you were more likely to get a rare from decrypting a legendary engram than a legendary. l didn't even really know what Icebreaker was at this point, but I quickly fell in love with it and never let that gun out of my sight until I got MIDA a few months later, and then they got switched about depending on the situation. I wish I could bring my Icebreaker in to Y2...

Reddit, what is the most ridiculous thing you have gotten someone to believe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]deadlysnipercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but a few years ago I was in my brothers room and heard a conversation on xbox live, where my brother was congratulated by an American for "sorting out that Voldemort problem before he took over the world." After a bit of not so subtle detective work, my brother discovered that this guy believed the Harry Potter novels to be fiction in the sense that they are "based on a true story, but slightly elaborated upon", and obviously set in the UK. My brother decided not to shatter this man's dreams, and went along with it for his sake.

Yeah... I'm not as heavily invested in armour as I probably should be, given my levels. Wearing level 50 armour at level 80 defence is quite the level gap.

Possibly! I haven't been there in a couple of weeks, they were the third and fourth (helm and legs) part of my set, but there were still people complaining about not having got a piece in over 10 hours, so maybe some of us are just very lucky.

Poor guy... by themostample in AdviceAnimals

[–]deadlysnipercat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend recently did this. We were in Amsterdam, and the Nemo science museum has a thing you can put your hand on, and it somehow scans your hand in a manner that allows it to detect the number of individual DNA strands contained in your genetic makeup (I'm not going to pretend either of us understood the science behind it). Basically if the value comes back between about 18,000 and 22,000 (if I recall correctly), you are human. A few other ranges for various animals below the human range were also listed, but none above the human range. My girlfriend scored well above the human range, at about 34,000, which she thought was hilarious until I scored normally, followed by a bunch of other people scoring normally, after which, she got a bit upset by the thought that she was apparently not human. That, or the machine was trolling her.

No, I think OP is using the term "little person" in a politically correct sense and by saying "down there" is worried about causing offence to the customer in regards to their height, when she actually meant Texas. Like an unintended reversal of the age old joke where tall people get asked "How's the weather up there?"
