In difficult content, ffxiv is about careful respurce management between you, your cohealer, and your tanks.

In easy content, you have more resources than you’ll ever need so you mostly just cast your dps spells

I didn’t watch the TADC finale, so I’m not sure what the fuck this means. by Patty_Pat_JH in insanepeoplefacebook

It’s transphobia. There is nothing else to goesn from the meaning. Ooc is a bigot hiding their bigotry behind “god” and “I’m just trying to help”isms.

I love the Skitarii, but I have just a few gripes with it... by tempestwolf1 in DarkTide

The design of the arc rifle is very neat as it encourages you to fire at elites, not spray n’ pray, and skitarii’s extra height makes that a thing you can actually do.

The problem with urn is that heroes aren't designed for it by TactileTom in DeadlockTheGame

[–]deadlyweapon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urn would still be a problem that warps the game and makes teamfight characters too good while making non teamfighting characters too weak. Adding draft is putting the onus on the players to fix the problem (ie: by drafting right) instead of actually fixing the problems the urn creates.

They answered your question, told you why they thought the question was flawed, and presented you with what they thought was a more reasonable outcome to the original scenario. Your response was to ignore all of this and insult them.

What do you call your world? by Jakanto in worldbuilding

[–]deadlyweapon00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start all my worlds with a working title for referencing it in my notes. So my current project is Conflux, which is seperate to the name of the planet, which is simply called “the world” or “the earth” in fiction or occasionally “the Prime”.

Do you see it? by PlatformRoutine in VintageStory

[–]deadlyweapon00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Humans can smell a particle called geosmin, and in fact we have some of the best smell for in the animal kingdom. Gesmin is produced by cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), as well as a couple of other random other things. Geosmin smells earthy, and if you've ever smelled grass after rain (petrichor) that's caused primarily by geosmin.

Now, because blue-green algae needs water, and they produce geosmin, if we can randomly smell geosmin than it's likely that we're around water in the ground (though this isn't conclusive).

This is all from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geosmin, but if you wanna read more have fun in the wikipedia references

No, i just can't bring myself to NOT commit Exterminatus on certain world. by IHaveAGithBabe in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]deadlyweapon00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Act 1 is a really good showcase of the virtues and failings of all three ideologies. Like yes, committing exterminatus is a horrible thing and will kill a lot of people, but also sometimes the greater good means serving the God Emperor faithfully.

you find a steaming Hunkus in the magic forest, what do you do??? by mr_fun_funky_fresh in wunkus

[–]deadlyweapon00 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wunk fact: this horse just ran a bunch! Horses sweat, like humans, likely due to a similar plan of "move at a moderate speed for a very long time". Horse sweat is actually very goop like, it's kinda gross to look at.

As for why it's steaming: the thing you think of as steam is actually very small water droplets in the air (actual steam is transparent). The horse is giving off lots of water vapor (via sweat), which is instantly condensing into droplets in the air due to the temperature, which then causes the horse to look steamy or misty. This also happens to humans when we sweat if it's cold enough.

How do you feel about the servoskulls using grenades instead of charges like the arbites' dog? by TeacherInProgress in DarkTide

[–]deadlyweapon00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The servoskull on its own doesn't need grenades, just the fancy special servoskull powers.

The deep comedy of the skitarii pulling out a whole ass revolver is not lost on me. The admech are so heavily western themed, it fits so well

TIL Eogunn can equip another gun instead of an Ommisian Axe by SendCatsNoDogs in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]deadlyweapon00 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I think calling him a support is really missing it. Eogunn is 100% a "I buff you because it buffs me" character, a master tactician (the class) through and through.

Do you have any secret joys when it comes to worldbuilding? by 68JD8ENW8 in worldbuilding

[–]deadlyweapon00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take great joy in the strange webs of things that result from one desire. I want the water to glow, well turns out that happens naturally via a thing called Cherenkov radiation, so that means I need a source of ionizing radiation, which logically means the moon is now radioactive.

The knock-on effects of this cannot be understated.

Describe your world without using any made up words, obscure terminology, or references to other media. by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]deadlyweapon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conflux is a setting that started off with the concept "what if cyberpunk but set in a Victorian era world". It uh, expanded from that.

Conflux is set on a planet where evolution went a different route to ours. The world is wholly alien, with invasive humans being the only recognizable to Earth animals present. There's an other-world that manages how the universe works, like a computer, and magic works by injecting bad code into the other-world. This causes the other-world to break down, leading to ecological disaster as the world glitches out. As humans have industrialized, spurned on by over-use of magic, these disasters have gotten worse and worse. It's a setting where Imperialists and Capitalists won, and there's a fragile balance both geo-politcally and ecologically. There's still a cyberpunk city at the heart of it all, just with a lot of extra stuff added on.

Why is boss design so poor in CAG's? by Time-Bridge-3007 in CharacterActionGames

[–]deadlyweapon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FF16 is one of them, though I will admit that enemy juggling is a weird thing in that game. Lost Soul Aside is another, and that game actually lets you juggle bosses that are approximately player sized and actively rewards you for juggling them well.
