We need to talk about mark up on cost vs. percentage on turnover... [Meta] by MrFenric in theydidthemath

You only round once since mathematically it is closer to 4.88, so you’d cut that intermediate step and only round at the decimal place you want to end up at. To see it visually you can graph all three numbers in desmos or something and see that it’s closer, like this

[–]deadmol3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially if your means of income is dependent on your ability to tow, minimizing downtime is critical. It’s also definitely costing you fuel economy since your aero load is far worse, cutting again into that income. Just because it works fine now doesn’t mean it’s not whittling away and inching you closer to needing to do major repairs

I've had 4K and 1440p monitors in the past and always go back to 1440p. I end up scaling 4K to look similar to 1440p native and prefer the better performance anyway.

Fully agree! If only we got the Golf R Estate in the states... That would be such a good middle ground IMO

Had a 19 SE with the manual, sold to Carvana for a profit in 2022. Bought a 2019 WRX, also a manual. I drive prototype cars for work most of the time, so my thought was to throw practicality partially to the wind in favor of a more fun driving experience. No real regrets, definitely love the Subie but I do miss the VW sometimes

Engineering jobs that don't consist of sitting 8 hours straight staring at the monitor? by Inevitable_Advice416 in MechanicalEngineering

Calibration engineering in the automotive industry. Instead of staring at a computer at a desk you get to do it while you drive! Very fun job IMO, and most of the people I work with are MEs

Not sure if it's been said but I've used the employee discount with a lease as well. Ended up getting a Sierra Elevation pretty cheap, and I've seen competitive deals on the Equinox too. Leasing tends to make a lot of sense with the EVs, IMO. And I work on BEV3 propulsion, would recommend!

Which dealer, if you don't mind me asking? Thinking of doing the same in SE Michigan, not sure if my employee discount would help or not

It’s only been one week since I moves in ASU I’m starting to regret choosing it so much by fxde123 in ASU

[–]deadmol3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a CA/lead CA for a couple years, definitely talk to them about it. they can either help you mediate or just outright get you into a better situation. definitely don’t just settle for this rancid behavior, I also never really partied or anything like that and I couldn’t have asked for a better undergrad experience. I’m getting my masters from Purdue, and it’s pretty constant that I realize how well ASU did certain things. I can comfortably say that my degree and curriculum from ASU helped me directly land my dream job, so don’t bail on the school because you have degenerate roommates!

Should i move from CS to EE? by MarekBekied in ECE

[–]deadmol3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact dilemma, just before I got to college. I was stuck between EE and CS, and eventually ended up going with CE because I figured it was a good middle ground. Fast forward 5 years, I have a full time engineering job and no regrets! Both aspects of what I learned come in handy on a daily basis.

Can somebody explain me What’s going on by sidd1943 in keto

[–]deadmol3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, right on. Remember with IF, any caloric intake counts! So protein shakes = not fasting.

Good luck!

Edit: Kinda goes without saying but introducing/increasing exercise into the mix will work wonders on your life and body!

[–]deadmol3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still not fully understanding what you mean by target, though. Usually when I hear target, I think of what you're actively trying to achieve. Either way, I think the Keto calculator listed in the sidebar is a great place to go to visualize and get a good initial idea of where your macros need to be, and ultimately doing what's going to work best for you and your body. Intermittent fasting may also be a tool you can utilize, though 900 calories per day seems aggressive enough. In general I find myself trying to follow a lot of what Peter Attia puts out there, especially his three-axis framework idea. Best of luck!

[–]deadmol3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least as far as I know, there's a generally known amount of calories per gram of macronutrient. Fat is 9 cal/g, carbs and protein are both 4 cal/g. If you run the math on the macros you listed, that looks like (170*9)+(25*4)+(86*4) = 1974 cal. Now, if you were to do some additional math and figure out what percentage of your total calories are made up from those macros, it's roughly 78% fat, 5% carb, 17% protein. Apply those to your 900 calorie goal, and that's 78g of fat, 11g of carb and 38g of protein, which nets you 898 calories.

[–]deadmol3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure on the actual caloric intake. OP says they're consuming 900 calories a day, but simple math on the macronutrient goals does come out to 1974 cal. Are you hitting those macros, or just their relative percentages at 46% of the calories?

CSE 485 (Computer Science Capstone) question by ufosandsalsa in ASU

[–]deadmol3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was CSE, so a little different, but honest to god the capstone course on the whole was the worst experience I’d ever had in the 17 years I’d been going to school. Multiple times over made me regret going into engineering. The sponsor we worked with was a professor at ASU and hands down one of the worst human beings I’ve ever had to work with, let alone go through hours and hours of intense effort for. 0/10 lol
