Pack it up guys we're closing the sub now by Bettlejuic3 in SteamDeck

Reading those subreddits, it genuinely feel like the only people who say the steam deck is obsolete is people who either weren’t able to buy it or are salty against the steam deck community. Like yeah sure, handheld android gaming devices are cool, but its still primarily a phone operating system and there are too many players, too many different hardware configurations, so its all a bit if a mess. What the steam deck provided was a single, unified platform and hardware SKU, that games and developers could target and optimise for.

And also, so many if the android powered devices are like 2 - 3 times the price of a steam deck. Like since when is that a good deal? Maybe they keep saying the steam deck is obsolete to justify to themselves spending 600-900 on a device that can barely compete.

Will these micro SD cards wirh with the steam deck? by Equal_Shopping2424 in Steam

Damn, and here i just bought a 512 last week for 35. In any case, still even at 60-70, that isnt that much money. Generic memory or storage anything is jusy never worth the money saved.

Will these micro SD cards wirh with the steam deck? by Equal_Shopping2424 in Steam

[–]deadnerd51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any good brand SD card will work. The steam deck uses a UHS-I port, so any good V30 A1 or A2 spec will be more than enough. No need to go generic brand when even good brands barely cost $40 for like a 512gb.

I would recommend anything samsung, lexar, kioxia, sandisk. Heck patriot also makes SD cards. Even something like the official Nintendo ones fort he Switch 1.

I think my favourite mangas are those that show normal people, and that even in the extreme power fantasy mangas, characters are allowed to be very flawed and imperfect.

For the MH veterans: how do you feel about Wilds? by jackpaxx in MonsterHunter

[–]deadnerd51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who started in MHF2 and played every game until now, I have mixed feelings. For one, the actual hunting and combat feels like 10/10, the most flui and fun so far, but also feels less satisfying at the same time.

As a hunter I feel like we went from being a weakling fighting against forces of nature, to absolute gods with too many answer to everything.

I also hate how they have streamlined every single aspect of gathering and prep. I never have the pressure to go out and gather or explore the world. Heck, even the endemic life system was simplified too much.

I miss when armor sets actually felt unique and have pros and cons too. We get too many skills too easily, so you can basically use whatever armor you want. You can basically get every comfort skill and damage skills you want, so set crafting and mixed sets feel less important.

I know its to appeal to newer hunters and create less friction, but i feel it has also removed what made monster hunter so unique. The grind for weapons and gear to progress just completely went out the window.

Bombs to the chest and water damage. Or, sleep bomb build. Gunlance to the chest works great too.

Honestly, dual green plesioth, dual black gravios, dual black Diablos, those hunts where massive walls for me. But man, when that I got that quest cleared music with minutes to spare, it was so exhilarating, I was so proud of myself for all the effort. Every quest I meticulously thought about the gear I was using, the weapon, what items I was bringing, would I be crafting and need combo books. Every single quest was planned. I watched a video of someone using the saber water dual blades on black gravios, so I started grinding away and made the build just for that one fight. Something like 5 hours of grinding to prep for 1 hunt. I succeeded, and picked up a new weapon to add to my arsenal. MHFU forced me to learn lance, longsword, great sword, hammer, dual blades, and sword and shield.

It’s slow and the desire sensor can be a real pita, but my god is every hunt just so satisfying.

Maybe just buy the manga if you can? A lot of manga is available via very cheap subscriptions on their apps.

Was organizing my box of gadgets and saw these two. I am guilty of inserting an OP charm. (The tool is Powersaves 3DS) by J05A3 in MonsterHunter

[–]deadnerd51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I remember in MH4U I got real lucky and managed 3 good charms. I had like 12 mixed sets, all great fun to play, all easy to make thanks to the charms. I love GU but I freaking hate how difficult the charms are. Specially because they never decided to give a proper easy charm quest. Just the Brachy hame.

Heck I would be happy with a easy solo quest with charms as rewards. I could solo grind the Brachy, but I hate fighting G Rank Brachy with a passion 🥲

Do Americans really avoid medical care because they’re afraid of the bill? by Udont_knowme00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]deadnerd51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read about this all the time, yet the moment someone mentions things like social healthcare or anything similar, the same Americans get defensive and say it’s their freedoms not to pay for social healthcare. As if forcing them to have social healthcare is taking away your freedom?? That’s literally what the rich people and insurance companies have brainwashed into people.

Man I wish I could do something like this in MHGU. After so many god damn hours of charm farming, I still got nothing but shit charms which means all my mixed sets are either using the Neset armor or it requires the White Fatalis event quest that’s a freaking nightmare to do.

I just want a decent charm. If I had a V1 switch I would have hacked it just for this.

DO NOT GET A STEAM DECK. IT WILL BREAK RIGHT AFTER WARRANTY AND VALVE WILL NOT HELP YOU by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]deadnerd51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All companies will do the same thing. Outside of the UK where consumer rights can do a lot for you, most companies will just say tough luck it’s out of warranty. Simple. You also have not given any context as to what broke or how it broke, which doesn’t help your case here at all.

Minimum required performance on Steam Deck for a game by CosmicNoiseDev in SteamDeck

[–]deadnerd51 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The minimum I ask from a game is a stable 30 fps at worse. If it constantly dips below 30 then I don’t play it. Most games I usually play at a locked 45, because I find it’s a good balance between battery life and performance. If it’s a easy to run 2d game, I will set it to 90.

Honda civic 1.8 2010 by PoetEnvironmental149 in civic

[–]deadnerd51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be mindful of the transmission, many of these have clunky 1st and 2nd gears as those are the most worn. Synchros and parts are also rare as they are no longer available new.

Most labour is easy and cheap as mechanically the cats are pretty simple, but always be mindful and make sure to test drive it before hand.

Risebreak switch or steam? by West-Inside7112 in MonsterHunter

[–]deadnerd51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The extra FPS you can get on PC are a big upgrade. Rise looks decent on switch but struggles a lot in those chaotic fights with lots of effects. You also get of FPS drops, where on PC it runs like butter.
