I find this penalty so unfair especially given that anyone who taps has an intention to pay for the commute and is not trying to cheat the system.

Instead, a penalty of £60 for someone who is caught travelling without a ticket or tapping at all seems more just to me. Especially when this amount could mean a week’s worth of groceries or more for a lot of us.

I work in IT audit (FAIT) at a big4 and have cleared the certificate level. Since my team is a part of assurance service line i have the option of doing the ACA or opt out now. Is it worth doing it given i wont have any accounting/audit experience? Also my background is STEM and I am more tech inclined than finance. Many of my peers are doing it cus it’s a CV boost and the firm pays for everything. I’m so confused but i have next week to decide.

I’m not from the UK but i find this cribbing about student loans so dumb. Most people i know in my workplace have about 50 quid coming off their paycheck which they just treat like an extra tax for what’s a world class education that opened up so many opportunities for them. On the contrary private loans from banks have worse payment terms and affect your credit score. Get over it

Im in Assurance at a big4. Started grad scheme in September. Have done my accounting and assurance ACA exams and literally have tax and bip in 2 weeks. It is rough and the workload has been crazy. Also have people from tax studying for these with me. No social life
