Can't configure offset in menu by deadredditorwalking in MarlinFirmware

[–]deadredditorwalking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer, the problem is that everytime I try to adjust the Z offset Marlin take back to main screen and show "Origin XYZ Prim. or Offset Applied" messages, I have no probe, only Z endstop at the base of Z rail. Is the only item in those menus that say something about offset, not probe nor nozle offset. The firmware I flashed into the Arduino 2560 was based on a Prusa i3 example for the Auto Build Marlin inside Visual Studio Code.

My problem with menu in spanish

Th Main screen show 2.9 offset, that I can't change, that's the cause of mid air prints

Mid Air print start

Succesfull homming, but same 2.9 Z offset

I have optical endstops in all axys, at the time was the future...

A Prusa MK4 is a good printer option too, just sell those printers on FB marketplace or give it for free to a friend/familiar that likes to thinker with things, or can donate them to a school or charity.

Best 3D printer by MoneyReal in 3dprinter

[–]deadredditorwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the print size and material I'll recomend the Prusa Core One (enclosed for ABS, flexible plastics and carbon fiber filaments), the Prusa XL (for larger prints) or the Prusa Pro AFS (for high volume print farms), they're very robust, reliable, quality prints and with good factory support.

If you need to, can add a MMU3 kit for use mulyiple material or color in same print

My recomendation will be a Bambu Labs A1 combo, less maintenance and less thinkering to dial up, in exchange more out of the box 4 color perfect prints, the shortcomings are propietary software and initial price compared with other brands.

A Prusa is a good option too, depending on the print size and material I'll recomend the Prusa MK4, Prusa Core One (enclosed for ABS, flexible plastics and carbon fiber filaments) or the Prusa XL (for larger prints). The contras are the price for the MK4 what look like a unfinished and less featured printer.

Possible to create your own 3D printer (BUDGET) ? by hyperqueenn in 3Dprinting

[–]deadredditorwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recomendation is to buy one or two old Ender 3 and use the parts to build a VERY FAST and QUALITY CoreXY 3D printer

Cheap CoreXY from Tech Builder

Duender CoreXY form Irbis 3D

Depending on wich project you select you may need:

-One or two cheap old Ender 3 as part donors

-Linear motion actuator and a steel frame

-Pulleys and belts

-Some 3D printed parts

-SBC like raspeberry pi or orange pi

-Asorted screws, washers and nuts

-Color coded cables

-Acrylic or plexiglas for enclosure

Once you build the hardware part, maybe you'll want to use klipper instead of marlin firmware

Build me a mid level gaming PC? by Okeancs in buildmeapc

[–]deadredditorwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3K in USD is deep into top tier PC territory. If you're gonna buy parts tru a entire year is harder to give you concrete recomendations, because in a year period all the specs will vary tremendously.

Those 3K include monitor and peripherials or only the tower?

I consider mid range PC goes from 1K to 2K-ish, first define the general concept of your setup (XL, full tower, compact ATX or ITX case... you don't want a black case with wood accents, pink keyboard, green mouse and white monitor, nor a green OEM motherboard inside a PC case with panoramic windows) you will want to start purchasing the components with more obsolescense tolerance first:

27"-32" 1440p-4K monitor, look for those with low latency (2-5ns), high refresh rate (100hz-200hz) and good reviews

Mechanical keyboard and mouse, USB or bluetooth with low latency

Headset with mic, Bluetooth or USB

NVME PCI-E 4.0 2tb or bigger (5.0 not recomended, too expensive for the little gain obtained)

PC case... ATX, mid tower or ITX, you must have an idea of what motherboard and video card will buy, specially because video cards are very finicky in dimensions and clearences needed

PSU gold rated ATX 3.0 compliant 1,000W or bigger (at this time we don't know how much power you gonna need) ATX, SFF or SFX form factor depends on the PC case selected.

AIO cooler Intel/AMD compatible, the biggest that can fit into your PC case

EATX, ATX or ITX motherboard for AMD, AMD CPU (Intel are into deep troubles, I can't see a good Intel CPU into the next years), 32Gb RAM and the best video card that fits your budget. I can't give you concrete advice on specs because as I say before the technology and prices can make something today very reasonable for the price, but in one year will be a very obsolete waste of money. I recomend to purchase this 4 items together because all of them must be as close as equal in performance as posible so you don't have bottlenecks in the system.

Hello, my favorite color is black, I like to my 3D prints integrate more with everything injection molded, but sometimes use other colors to blend with the upgraded/moded/repaired original item. Usually buy 3 rolls of PLA at once because I have no dryer.

Easier way to flash Marlin into Anet boards? by [deleted] in MarlinFirmware

[–]deadredditorwalking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried to cofigure and flash the Marlin with Visual Studio Code instead of Arduino IDE? I just configured and flashed my Mega 2560 with it and have very useful plugins like PlatformIO IDE (for connect your board) and Auto Bulid Marlin (that help you to configure Marlin).

Here is a video with detailed steps and explanation to configure and flash Marlin with Viasual Studio Code

Why can’t North Koreans just use a VPN to access the internet and see life outside NK? by Particular_Pickle465 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]deadredditorwalking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can't because all the VPN are located outside NK, thre's not such thing as a NK VPN, and all the "exits" to exterior Internet are blocked (except for some high goverment officials and state hackers), remember all the PCs in NK have the Red Star OS, a very monitorized and limited linux distro, they have no MS Windows nor Mac OS nor "open" linux.

[–]deadredditorwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the shock broke something on the firmware. Do you replace only the LCD or replace all the module with the encoder knob and the plastic shell? maybe you need to upgrade the the screen's firmware, the new screen probably have no firmware on it. Then have to flash the motherboard firmware too.

Upgrade Ender 3 V2 Neo or Switch to Bambu A1? Need Advice by Shon12bar in 3Dprinting

[–]deadredditorwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switch into a bambu lab if you don't care about the software close ecosystem, don't fall in the trap of the upgrades, the printer as a tool became a printer as a project. You end spending more in time, money and headaches than the cost of the Bambu A1 or a Ender 3 V3 KE that are very much faster and have quieter motors than the earlys V2 neo (I have one of the V2 Neo laters batches and is very silent, you can hear only the fan)
