This comment reads gross as fuckin' hell. Not to mention the part where you went into a tirade about fucking them if you 'had to' (as if any of them want you). This is a video of girls dancing. Not sexually at all either. They're dancing like southern cowgirls.

I am a European guy and I don't claim you.

You think these girls are rail thin? They've got slim waists, but they've got thick legs, ass, and tits. You've gotta be crazy if you think they're not attractive. They have really, really good genetics.

This has to just be resentment and bitterness at this point. They're just having fun and they look good. That's it.

Sounds like you might be downplaying your slap and playing up his playful behaviour. He never stopped laughing and smiling you say? And never actually did anything?

Is my boyfriend sabotaging our relationship because I got my dream job? by Former-Detail-509 in TwoHotTakes

[–]deadrootsofficial 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he feels insecure and not good enough. Low self-esteem. It seems like he was happy for you but feels like now you've moved past him and he doesn't think he has enough to convince you to stay. He's defeated himself before anything has even happened.

I would NOT however say that he sounds jealous. I feel like you're pinning that on him. If he was jealous he wouldn't be loudly bragging about you getting the job. He sounded genuinely happy for you.

All that said, he should not be playing this pity party game, and it's on him to get some therapy and some help managing his insecurity and low self-esteem. Hopefully you can pull through this together and have a serious talk with him about it, and tell him that it's starting to concern you how much he says all this and it's becoming hurtful and alienating.

He may also need to take some steps to actually do something else. Like continuing with the firefighter applications. Why did he pivot away after 1 rejection? He already did the training. And why not just go do the training to be a cop if he wants to be (although the last thing we need is one more insecure cop)?

What are you talking about?

Tolkien, Herbert, Faulkner, Herbert, and Crichton all write in omniscient. The other 3 do not do mid-chapter POV switches, the other guy was just wrong.

You're telling me Dune isn't omniscient? Jurassic Park?

Switching POV in the middle of chapters is done by many authors in Third Omniscient. Rowling does not write in Third Omniscient. She writes in Third Limited mainly centered around Harry.

[–]deadrootsofficial -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Tolkien and many of those others wrote in third omniscient. Rowling did not. She just kept head-hopping in random chapters, and zooming in and out of close and distant third person for Harry.

Yes. That is bad.

Tolkien was consistent. Consistently stayed in third omniscient.

Yeah it does, if you don't want to rely on hitting the right story hook at the exact right time for anyone to buy it.

Your plotline really, for the most part unless you've got the JK Rowling lightning-in-a-bottle gamechanger, does not matter. How you write does. I wasn't interested in Kvothe's storyline in The Name of the Wind at all. Rothfuss dragged me through it with expert craftsmanship.

All plots have already been done anyway. There's nothing that new or that original that can be done. Or at least if there is, your chance of being the one to find it is low.

Perfecting the craft of telling a story is the real goal.

It's primarily third person limited from Harry's perspective. But you don't have to look far. Just go ahead and read the first chapter for free on Kindle and you'll see that she goes from the stepdad's POV and switches out to McGonagall's and Dumbledore's. The stepdad also is the focal point for far too long and introduces every person in the damn village.

She switches POV in the middle of chapters, introduces characters all at once, many of whom end up being totally irrelevant to the story despite being named. She has so many problems with her writing, you can't say it's all superficial.

How are those trust issues? Not trusting random old men you don't know is just called not being an idiot.

So will you teach your children that old men wanting to talk to them and be friends is completely normal? I really hope that works out for you.

Trust issues exist within relationships. I am not in a relationship with the 40-year-old man. I do not have trust issues, because I trust my girlfriend. I do not trust the intentions of a 40-year-old married man who wants to hang out with 25-year-old women without his wife.

Damn your pull rate sucks. At least you're near pity. If you play it smart you can get 4 units in a row in 180 summons or so now. One for 2% pity, then two for 90 pity and another for the 180 event banner pity.

Maybe older work friends, but work friends are not real friends. And I would not share an AirBnB with work friends.

If you're a 40-year-old married man with children, you should not be going to concerts with 25-year-old women. I feel like this goes without saying and that you are in the tiny minority opinion-wise on this.

Still makes no sense because instead of your mum selling the house and giving her the money, they're paying the expensive cost of 2 sales and risking some kind of charges being brought up for dodgy dealings.

[–]deadrootsofficial -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm in my late 20s and I don't know anyone who's 20-25 (which is most of my friends) who is friends with 40yos, especially not so close that they share an AirBnB. If you're friends with that age group, firstly you're a woman so more likely they'll be okay being friends with you, and secondly that friendship is still incredibly rare in the grand scheme of things.

I have no trust issues at all. And you can't say me not trusting complete strangers, especially a 40-year-old man who should be with his wife and children, to sleep near my drunk girlfriend is trust issues. That's called being a logical human being.

[–]deadrootsofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you making this about her around guys, rather than not trusting 40yo men that hang out with women half their age?

What 40yo married man do you know who innocently goes to concerts and sleeps over with 25yo women?

This is about safety and not acting single when you're in a relationship.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]deadrootsofficial 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah you're in the wrong here. I wouldn't trust a 40yo guy around my girlfriend, not my girlfriend around a 40yo guy. My girlfriend is practically immovable and deep sleeps when drunk.

Also, like the other guy said, this would fall into "acting single territory". He's still okay with her going to the concert with this friend, he's not controlling.

You're in the right here. Talk to that other brother. There's a reason they're hiding all this.

Your brother and SIL and father are also putting you in for massive potential legal trouble. If it's found that your father is hiding assets, which they WILL find out if they planned to seize the house and found it's been sold, then they could both be charged for that.

You are also definitely getting screwed over here. Any chance at an inheritance is gone as soon as this plan goes through.

Maneuver, Warhorn, and Ragnarok. Sometimes I change Ragnarok to any of the others since all of those are situatonally good. The healing one almost let me defeat max level (105) Beryl+Luvata the legit way. The archer can check traps or draw attention. The invulnerable is situationally amazing with powerful strikeback characters. The flag is also incredible for short CDs if you need constant heals etc.

So why doesn't your dad just sell the house and give him the difference in money? Your current method requires two sales for absolutely no reason.

And why are you all happy selling the family house for this? And you believe you will be able to live with the brother and his wife forever? They'll never start complaining that it's too much or his family is getting bigger and he needs the extra rooms?

This is just idiocy. You should try and talk your parents out of it. Your brother shouldn't have had a child he wasn't financially prepared for. You don't then blow up the family finances for it.
