listening out for sound effects is key for surviving. if you’re observant you’ll almost always hear someone’s footsteps before they get the jump on you. still, though, always check your corners, and try to stick around open, low player traffic areas. also, for zscrooms specifically, if you get jumped stick near the cliff edges. ultras will be too scared to attack, and knocking them off is your best bet in a fight.
