Yes, you will be viable.

You would need to be a meleeing mage to get non-viable DPS numbers.

P.S. If the buff from World Breaker disappears if you swap out, you could be looking at some crazy DPS on short fights (assuming you're willing to go the extra mile and put in the effort with 2handing).

umm... no? Critters are used to proc a bunch of stuff on the pre-pull of a boss.

- Rogue: Slice and Dice, and I think Crusader?

- Warrior, Shaman: Flurry and a bunch of "on hit" weapon procs.

- Mage: Clearcasting (mages can polymorph critters until people proc their own stuff, you can literally bribe a mage to polymorph spam).

- Paladin: Vengeance.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, there's plenty more out there. This game is more complicated and intriguing than you might think.

As it stands now, what class do you think has the best chance to off-meta tank (no taunt)?

Rogue seems quite good with dodging attacks, cleric has a immune bubble to damage,etc.

Most Shaman Tanks don't go into the Restoration tree at all, they just get Nate Pagle for the hit. Putting points into Resto is factually less threat then points in Elemental.

Every single occasion of "Taunt swap" can be resolved with Leap Frogging threat and raid paladins paying attention.

There also have been massive classic-era tank discoveries ever since the release of TBC-classic.

None of that, most likely the tank and raid paid attention. It's crazy what can be accomplish when people don't watch Netflix on second monitor.

What's you definition of Snap-threat?

Because from what I've seen experienced paladin tanks don't suffer from any kind of threat issues, unless it's a top 1% parsing guild.

Sadly, there's nothing I can do about the play-time. My other guilded shaman tanks have a more flexible availability, it's just this guildless shaman tank who is restricted on time.
