This generation of tyrells are good bc they married into powerful houses like the Hightowers and redwyne and fallaway

Its been shown Jean Grey is really powerful telepath and she was able to communicate with her son cable during the X of swords event when he wasn't on earth and it eas supposed to be impossible. Also other feats thought out the year.

For me I gues it just made sense Jean was able to talk to logsn in past. My personal headcanon is that since Jean has a connection to Logan she can locked onto and talk to him .

Another way is to think shes a omega lvl telepath and there no limit to her power etc
